What I mean by this is, say you have a complex recipe that needs snails. Snails are great food for wolves though, too, and they're plenty abundant.
So, if my idea were implemented, you could go into auto-feed and set a limit - like 'stop feeding my wolves this item when there's only 100 left' or something like that, with the amount customisable for whatever you want. That way, you wouldn't have to watch your food constantly worrying you'll run out of something before getting the other ingredients ready.
