I think being able to hide it after the initial pop-up but being able to see it on the main page at all times feels reasonable.

I know next to nothing about coding so I’m unsure if that’s feasible, but it makes sense. Or posting something in the Announcements on the forums so people can come back to it!

In general I think it would be good for Lorwolf if there was something like a Dev Report, where all banner announcements and forum posts made by staff can be found.

For example, a bunch of weeks ago, one of the staff mentioned in the suggestions forum that moonstone ores in mining were getting a more distinguishable colour from silver ore. This still hasn't been reported in any news announcements or patch notes, and because only the people that posted in that thread (around a dozen) were pinged, the majority of the community will not have seen it.

These types of updates (the announcement of when the maintenance is going to be) would also be very useful to be included in that Dev Report overview, as it allows us to remove the banner (which for someone like me can be a bit too much 'in your face') without completely losing out on the useful information.
