Stuck with completed quest's encounter

I have correctly gotten all my rewards for all quests I have done in the campaign, however the event for Does Eat Oats is still in the list of encounters I have a chance of running into in the first zone of goldsea. It's not the *biggest* deal but is definitely annoying when I'm exploring there for cooking ingredients and the does eat oats event still has a chance of occurring, which means I am slightly less likely to get any of the other encounters.
