I got an amethyst mining what is it for?

I don't exactly know but it's probably a trinket but I'm not sure

It is classified as a material, and shows up in crafting, so perhaps it is used for one of the new recipes that has been released.

From what the recent update said -

"It's time to collect all the shinies - precious gemstones can now be mined throughout the caves of Loria! Players can now rarely find Sapphire, Ruby, Amethyst, Citrine, and Emerald gems. As of now, these gems can be used to craft the exclusive Achievement daggers. We plan to release many new crafting recipes and apparel items featuring these rare gems"

It looks like they plan to use them for a lot of new crafting recipes! :)

@Wulfraptor the new gemstones are used in recipes for new dagger apparel (the dagger recipes are earned via achievements)

I just got another one if you're looking for them the growling grotto is the place to get the purple one

So has anyone found any of the other gemstones yet? All I saw so far is also the purple one, so I have been wondering.

Edit: I found a Citrine gem in the Spooky Spires. They do in fact seem to be related to locations

These are the locations I know of so far as there's not a ton of info yet. I'll edit my comment if I find where the others are.

• Emerald: Lucid Lagoon
• Citrine: Spooky Spires (seems like the best place from my short testing so far)
• Amethyst: Growling Grotto
• Sapphire: Fluorescent Fountain
• Ruby: The Deep Deep

@LunaSilverWolf: The sapphire one drops from the fluorescent fountain, so by process of elimination that leaves ruby dropping from the deep deep

@Gaia Thank you for the info! I haven't gotten to the next stage yet but apparently the gems give a TON of exp which is what we needed tbh

@LunaSilverWolf they sure do; 110xp a pop. I managed to gain more xp since their release than I did in the two months prior combined. I'm inching ever closer to the last area :)
