I can support an optional chat like Catesanova1 says, one that I can just toggle off and forget about. I already don't enjoy the Arena that much anyway, I'm only doing it for the prizes and achievements, and I know that a chat would just give me additional anxiety because I'd feel like I have to interact with people.

Support! Makes it easier to talk rather than just the discord :D
As much as I'd love to support this, the hassle of moderation such a chat would be difficult. You'd need logs to be saved, and just constant monitoring, and I don't think there's staff for it.
Support (no ping! Just a heads up, EVERY time you edit the post with the ping list, it will ping every user again!)
With as heavily as they use discord, they should just put a discord widget on there and have it automatically in the Arena channel
