I think it's a super cool idea. If you release a wolf, there'd be a super duper small chance that someone could recruit it when encountering wild wolves or doing the hunt mission. I think it might be best alongside the normal random colour chance. I've seen some people set absolutely beautiful wolves free, and I think it'd be pretty sweet if we had a small chance to get them.

What do you all think?

Edit for update: I'm hearing what y'all are saying and agree with you guys now that it's not a very good idea. I thought it'd be cool at first but after having all angles explained, it doesn't seem like the best idea. Thanks to everyone for replying and sharing your thoughts :D

@Faia that's a good point too. I thought to combat this you would be unable to recruit your own wolves again. But yeah good point about the uglies. I don't think I really thought that through because I almost always get ugly ww, so I was just considering the pretty ones players release, not the uglies

It could work under certain conditions. For example:

• All released wolves will automatically change their breed to jocol, lupin or kit (you know, basic ones)
• We should be able to see wolf before we try to claim it.

I see no other alternative.

I don't see how seeing a wolf before we claim it is going to help. Either I see it is an ugly one and I don't claim it (and thus waste a turn, equal to just failing the attempt, or maybe even worse, cause do we get a KBT if we don't claim it?) or I claim it and end up with an ugly wolf.... I'd rather just not get this. Getting a pretty wild wolf is already close to impossible with the massive amount of colours and colourslots on a wolf. Adding even more ugly wolves from the released pool, is just going to make it worse.

Not even touching on the market things that Twiceup mentioned.

No support. If a user wants a wolf released, then the site shouldn't say the released wolf will get to come back against that user;s will.

There are other issues with this as well such as if the wolf has the same id as it did before there is a lot of potential for exploitation such as releasing an all pink range ww with the intent to get it back.
