What's The Releasing Strat?

Hello all! I'm unsure how many answers I'll get on the topic, but I am curious regardless. What is the general strategy for releasing wolves?
I know about the putting frog companions on fodder while they're pups, but what level do you all release them at? And do you farm campaign for XP on them?

It's really only worth it releasing a wolf at either lvl 1 for the daily ticket or den cleaning or at lvl 10 for the knuckle you obtain afterwords. Training a wolf to lvl 10 from lvl 1 isn't really worth it energy wise so I just toad it up until they are very close to lvl 10 for a clean up

Personally I release them at level 5, unless I'm low on space. I don't use the campaign (I like to use that to level wolves for the gauntlet), but I use hunting and basidios to level fodder.

Twice as many 1 hour pebble generators as frogs makes it not super profitable, but most often not a loss to use the babysitter to powerlevel fodder-- at least when the pebble generators are level 10. Takes time & space, there might be a more profitable and/or faster strat with some of the more expensive XP companions, but I haven't done the math on XP/hour so take that with a barrel of salt!

Releasing at lvl1 for a ticket is also a fine reward to effort ratio, but I wish we were allowed to do more than 1 a day. Tickets are not really so valuable as to be worth limiting that hard, even if there was still a weekly cap of how many dogs you could ditch for them. But that mostly comes from wishing the incentives to release were just... better in general, and less about ticket limits themselves. :S

put kuzma or basido on puppy. pay nana to play with your wolves a few times a day. eventually youll have level 10 doggy to release and get 10kp and 1 knuckle bone. do this 50 times you get a free wild wolf. its kinda like a set it and forget it. no need to level in the campaign :3

Basically what Vyler said, but with 5 new wolves birthing a nest of pups each day I do have to level some in the campaign for the last bit of exp because otherwhie I'll run out of space and basidio/kuzma.

@Reave while higher rarity companions do have a higher maximum amount of xp they can give when played with, it doesn't compare the common companions that can be played with every hour. The lower limit is still very similar, so if you are unlucky you;ll get the same amount of xp when playing, but can do it less often per day. Plus, since you can't release when the companion is on cooldown, having a longer cooldown is inconvenient imo, so I just stick to the basidio and kuzma.

Thank you guys, this was all really insightful and I learned some things! Didn't know they had to be level 10 to get a knucklebone but it makes sense.

I generally use them in campaign to get all the explore tasks done, and when one hits level 10 I send it off for the bone and the 10k. If I'm going to be doing the campaign to finish exploring activities I might as well get a little extra treasure out of it :)
