Clubs/Guilds

I think it would be cool to implement a club or guild situation here on Lorwolf.

I've seen a few different interpretations of these types of features on other sites.

They could have their own set forums and applications when the owner accepts people. They would be user-run. We could make our own club/guild-based contests, giveaways, games, etc.

I'd definitely like something like this! I know we have the 4 packs, and there are events planned for each pack, but having some smaller groups inside those packs would be pretty neat.

I feel like this could be something kinda fun to organize from a user-perspective, but it would require one person from each pack to have access to pack-specific forums. So definitely a lot of work. Would be fun though!

Just to help flesh out the idea (and to help me and perhaps others get a feel for whether we like the idea or not), and not meant as a criticism, but what purpose would the clubs/guilds serve? What kind of features would you imagine that make it worthwhile joining one and set it apart from, for example, a user-created club in the forums? What kind of restrictions would be necessary or would i be able to join all clubs that are created?

As another thought, who would moderate the club/guild boards? I'm not necessarily against the idea, however, most places I've seen that have had such features end up alienating users, and just made the place feel more unwelcome if everything isn't public.

Looking at the edit of what the clubs/guilds would entail, I personally think that the forums could already serve that purpose, without the need to dedicate time and resources of the devs to develop a whole separate system for that. I would much rather see that time and resources invested in improving current features or adding features that have a significant added benefit. So it will be a no from me, given the current description.
