Alternative way to get guaranted Wild Wolf (no wasting a hunting slot)

I thought I already made a suggestion about this back when the feature was introduced, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, so here I am.

Basically the Knuckebone Token / Wild Wolf hunt was introduced to give people a guaranteed chance at a wild wolf, after a bunch of failed attempts. Good thing. But, there's a couple things I don't like about it.

1. The hunt takes half an hour, and you can only do one at a time, so doing some sort of 'mass hatch' (which can be a very popular thing on special occasions) is impossible

2. There are limited slots to choose from in the hunting profession, and the moment you have all the necessary 'ingredients', the hunt will always show up. Even when you pay to reroll new hunts. And I don't always want to immediately hunt for a new wild wolf when I have the ingredients, basically wasting a slot. Adding onto this, we don't have a vault-feature to easily put away the pebbles and/or knucklebone tokens, so that the hunting profession doesn't recognize them as available, to stop the hunt from showing up. (yes we can list them on the Flea market, but the maximum is 99 per listing, they expire regularly, and it is a pain to keep that up. Even more so with no easy way to automatically relist expired listings. Basically it is too much effort)

There is a couple of solutions I see. The one I prefer is removing the Wild Wolf Hunt, and instead add a crafting recipe (automatically known to all accounts, much like the moonstone crafting recipe) that crafts 50 KBT and 15k pebbles into a Summoning Token. Summoning tokens can be used straight from the inventory whenever you want to automatically generate a random Wild Wolf. The pros to this would be that a. no hunting slot is taken up with a wild wolf hunt, and b. it allows for 'mass summonings' on special days or occasions in a way that is impossible with the current hunt system.

A second alternative, which in my opinion is a lesser alternative, but would still solve issue 2, is that the wild wolf hunt is an 'extra' slot, in thue hunting system, rather than one of the standard ones. That way, at least, you aren't automatically limited in what you can choose from, and you don't waste pebbles when you reroll for new hunts.

As I said, the first solution is the one I greatly prefer, as it adds a lot more possibilities to fun summoning events, or increases your chance of finding a fitting wild wolf on, for example, your birthday or a day of with a blood moon or lunar eclipse. Plus with the added benefit of not wasting a hunting slot all the time.

This would be a fantastic change. So tired of the WW hunt I have no intention of doing clogging up my hunts, and it would benefit people who do like to save several of them up to do "mass hunts" as it were. Even if the hunt was shortened but stayed for the inevitable? population that likes it the way it is for one reason or another, but simply didn't show up if you converted your KBs into one of the instant-hunt-tokens I'd be satisfied tbh. I'd like a way to just opt out of WW encounters entirely at this point and just get 50kb tokens (or one of these proposed auto-hunt-tokens) on WW encounters I would have "won", but that is "pie in the sky".

When you fail enough WW encounters and get 50 knucklebone tokens (or just buy them from other people), a hunt will show up in your hunting list after a refresh or two (manual or automatic) that will let you generate a pity WW. The whole WW system is not at all fun imo, but it seems to be what we're stuck with despite much effort to get it changed during the beta. :/

The hunt doesn't take an hour, it takes 30 minutes, just to mention that!

I do like the "extra slot" idea. Sometimes it's also difficult to have the hunt come up even with refreshing, and it'd be cool to not waste hunt refreshes trying to get it to show up. That would solve it.

I support that somehow. Even if, I never liked the pity token mechanic and think it should be removed. It's a very disheartening mechanic for me that feels like the game is telling me "here have this loser now stop whining", they are just a reminder of how much I miss on the WW mechanic. Having it clogging up a hunting slot adds up to the feeling. So not having them in that spot would be a great thing. That would be at least a step into the right direction.

I just hope it will be implemented at some point, not just tossed on the ever-growing suggestion pile.

I would love if we could craft an item to automatically summon- or at least have the wild wolf hunt stackable. I’d like to be more competitive at ID hunting with people who can birth up to 4 nests at a time.

I was too lazy to check and I knew it was one or the other. Thanks for the heads-up; I edited to OP to reflect the correct duration.

This is a great idea, though I'm still collecting knucklebones for a first hunt.

How is it there are people with dozens of WW for sale? You need 50 encounters to get enough, or 1 million pebbles or 50 MS.

@RavenMagic you can also get Knucklebone tokens when you release a wolf at level 10. I currently have 40 pairs of wolves breeding new pups every day (5 nests a day). While the pups are young, I attach a companion that awards wolf XP when played with to them, so that they can gain xp while they're still pups. And once they grow up to adulthood, I toss them into the campaign and level them up that last bit to release them at lv10. I have been doing this for about 6 months and have about 2500 knuckelbone tokens as a result

WOW! I did a forum search on Knucklebone and didn't find this.

I have 10 lvl 10 adults now and I've started breeding, but it was only to get pups I wanted. I just expanded my Den and I'm going to start breeding actively.
