Don't be shy to make offers of pebbles/ms/hard-to-get cooking ingredients like milk and salt on any wolves in my sale den!
I like both these ideas, although I wonder how well an adoption center would actually work out. A giving tree however would be awesome! While a lot of donations would def be low value stuff, someone may still grab it for vendor sell. Maybe if people were flooding it with too many items there could be a daily or hourly donation limit or something. I think the main concern I have with this is that vendor sell is actually really painfully annoying right now, so if it were easier for me to say, donate all 8k of my candles instead of trying to vendor sell them 100 at a time I definitely would and that could be a problem if people used it like that. If vendor sell were better there would less to worry about though. Maybe there could also be a thing to where if the item wasn't claimed in a certain amount of time it just deleted from the giving tree and therefore the game entirely or whatever (maybe the donated items were added like a listing with a timer on it and they just deleted when it expired or something)
I think though that a giving tree wouldn't be only full of useless things if set up right. Like, when I started playing I had such a hard time getting enough sturdy sticks for my pickaxes, and now I have more than I could ever need. I sell some of them but if I could instead low effort donate at least some of them to a giving tree where they could benefit new players I definitely would. I also often have extra mole market apparel and recipes and stuff from claiming my free items, and those kinds of things could be really useful to someone. I sell cheap recipes and apparel for moonstones all the time, so I know at least some of my extra items would probably be things people would like to get for free. Donating them would save me some effort when my inventory gets to crowded as long as it were easy to do. Right now there's just no easy enough way for me to be willing to give these kinds of things away, and I would like if there were. The only game I have played with a giving tree is goatlings, which to be fair I haven't played on very much, but I always check the tree on there when I do login and usually find things I want in it tbh, and I imagine I would really enjoy one if it were implemented here.
