Wondering how the flea market items that show up to buyers are organized. What I mean specifically is like, when you list something for the same price and quantity as someone else, how is it decided which listing shows up first? When I list things that are the same item, item quantity, and price as existing listings sometimes my listings show up above other people's and sometimes below. On flight rising which I also play this is based off the time left for the listing (items with listings that expire sooner are always shown first). On lorwolf I can't figure it out because it seems to not be based on listing time and I don't know what else it could be based on unless it is just random?
For example, I just listed a bunch of items at 25 to 1 ms for 7 days, and they appeared below other listings of that item at that price point that had less than 4 days left till they expire. I listed some more of the same item at a higher quantity and price to match some other listing already on the flea market, and they appeared above other listings of the same item, quanity, and price, even though my items don't expire for a week and the ones already on the fm expire in a few days, much sooner than mine. They are organized like this when I sort them unit price: lowest to highest and when I sort them price: highest to lowest but are flipped if I sort highest to lowest, so it seems a bit intentional maybe? The only difference I can see in the listings when I look is that the time left till the listing expires is not the same, but it's not consistent with whether sooner or later expiring listings show up first. I've noticed this type of thing happen before at least a few other times.
So yeah basically I am just curious to know what determines the listing order, and what the purpose of shorter listing times is if they don't give you the advantage of showing up first to buyers? It seems kind of silly to list things for 1 or 2 days at a time in this case because you can't relist anything directly so its a pain to put the items back up if they don't sell. It also seems silly to have options for 1-6 day listing options at all when they only seem to give players a disadvantage for the most part. So yeah my personal method is list everything on lorwolf for 7 day durations. Would love to know if anyone knows how the organization works for real though or has any experience/tips in regards to time length for listings.
