[Event] Do not balance game for all day intense grinding players

Not everyone stays home full time to play Lorwolf 24/7 and balancing the game for those players is not healthy for the game economy or the rest of the players. Casual players like me who work full time depend on the players who have time to grind and sell because we don't have time for it. Will they get MS they didn't buy because of it? Yes!!! Will they get good items, pebbles, and pretty WW? Yes! Should they? YES!!! Time is money as they saying goes. If someone puts in work (fairly of course, no bots, just fair grinding because they have time to) they deserve to sell, trade, and get paid, don't they? IRL workers get paid for their time on the job, so why not the grinders who have time to play that us casuals don't have?

Game economies depend on grinders. There will always be whales and others who are willing to buy premium currency to pay for things they don't have time to get themselves, or who don't want to. Payers depend on grinders for those things. Without the grinders, there is no economy. Without things to sell, there is nothing to buy. Grinders are not taking away a cash source you want as developers, they are actually adding to it! They support the whales you value.

I'm certainly not a whale myself, but I'm more than happy to buy a pretty WW I can't grind for myself as a collector, or trade for things I might not have time to grind for as a full time working adult. I also have carpal tunnel and can't hit mouse or keyboard buttons with the intensity that grinders can. I have now begun to irritate my carpal tunnel trying to refresh battles and do the Icerun event as fast as possible for FOMO! Hurting hands means I can't play at all! Because of this, I'm not hitting the daily ticket limit needed to get just ONE of each limited soft retire item before the event ends. I can't even dream of getting several of the same thing to decorate my wolves with.

This event seems to be tailored to curb in the 24/7 all day grinders, and it's hurting the rest of us (some of us physically literally). Not only that, there will be no economy for the event items because people will want to hoard them since they are so hard to obtain, and the few items that might sell will be so high that people WILL NOT buy MS for them because it will be way more than we can afford. You are hurting your players, your economy, and your income as a company by balancing the game for the grinders and against the rest of us.

I agree with this. I have time on my hands and was grinding pretty actively before but stopped because It was less worth it than creating CA's. And even that is not balanced to be fair.

But a healthy economy can't be balanced around one type of player base. It leaves a competitive environment that leaves out everyone who can't dish out the time and resources. And considering that it's a game that is supposed to be fun. A bad economy sucks the fun out of it fast.

I also agree. Either the rewards need to be raised or the prices lowered. Just when I was starting to feel okay with where the game is trying to head they pull this. I play a game that's mostly based around FOMO and somehow it's less FOMO than this. That game doesn't require for me to sit on it for hours every day. As a college student I simply cannot dedicate myself to this especially if it's every January as this is my exam season.

They need to stop and look at things from players perspective. They need to start releasing more things to buy, but for less. They need to fix the economy, and with how this event is now it won't help that big issue at all. They should also consider finally working on more apparel and patterns so the wolf selling can actually be meaningful. Right now every wolf is pretty much the same with the exception of CA which is also not affordable to most casual players, myself included.

While I 100% agree based purely on the title, I actually find this take very interesting, and I never really thought about it like that. But it is so true. More balancing needs to be done, and it needs to be done based on an average casual player!

I'm a fairly casual player, but I've been trying to grind for this event and it's frustrating how long it takes to get tickets. My lair isn't optimized for campaigns and my winter break will be over at the end of the weekend, so I'm having to prioritize getting tickets now if I want to fill out my battle pass.

I've postponed some other things I wanted to do in game, like buying MS to get a Volmyr scroll, because right now all my time is grinding tickets, and the scrolls will still be there to buy in February.

I think the ticket output needs to be upped or the prices lowered, and the battle pass needs to be made easier to fill if you want people to stay engaged with these events. I'm all in for this one, but I'm kind of regretting that and probably won't participate in the next one if it's this hard.

Massive support. I'm usually okay with earning the things I buy through grinding, but this is very very rough. Once I finish the battle pass, because that is my intent this week while I have time, I really won't want to be back on the site doing much more than just tending to my den. I know we have a month, but not everyone will have the full month due to their own time constraints.

support! i AM a grinder with whatever game i'm into. i wfh and have a lot of opportunity to play. but i'm an outlier and i don't feel like the site should be so oriented toward players like me. i'm very much a pro-community player who wants rare items to be challenging to get, but not impossible, for the average player.

Agree and support.

I'm not saying "give us everything right now and for free", I'm concerned about the "having fun"/"being lit" part of the game. I don't like the amount of grind when casual players feel like they need to rip everything off with their teeth.

There are players who can get 1k tickets per day and there are those who can't (and it has nothing to do with being lazy, play style and optimization are different).

I've quit playing MMOs and jrpgs because I don't have as much free time to burn there to level up and progress as I used to. LW atm (mostly thanks to this event) feels somewhere in-between a mobile app game and a jrpg in terms of how much of my time it wants in order to progress smoothly, especially since there's a pressure of it being a time-limited event, so you feel like you gotta do the best you can before time runs out (in case next year it'll be harder to catch up/close the gaps).

I WFH and I've been grinding away at the event arena [so much love] and slowly wending my way up the trials (32 is kicking my rear) - I do campaign too but I wouldn't say I'm seriously grinding that one. I have 1100 tickets in 2 days, which... is not bad just for the number.. but then when you look at the costs to GET everything? I'm barely going to make it...

From here:

"

Total ticket amount to buy 1 of everything: 10,675

Total ticket amount including premium track: 9,750

Total ticket amount for "soft-retiring companions": 1,100

Total ticket amount for just "soft-retiring apparel": 2,125

Total ticket amount for just "soft-retiring apparel" including premium track: 2,275

Total ticket amount for just companions: 8,225

Total ticket amount for just icerun companions: 3,175

Total ticket amount for just apparel: 2,450

Total ticket amount for all apparel including premium track: 1,600

you need a minimum of 375 tickets a day"

I will not be able to grind all day every day for a month -and I'm sure the next pack event will be just as grindy.

I've been struggling so hard to get the apparel pieces, and I still haven't been able to get any of the familiars. I've spent over 5 hours grinding and I have three pieces of apparel. That's it. I've been using the reload method on arena and have a decent team for campaign.

Things like this are why the amount of players playing are so low. Everything feels like and endless, awful loop to me.

It should be possible to play the game in an enjoyable way even casually, however there should still be a reason for very active players to play. If you know you can't get everything, figure out what you really want, especially in case of the seasonal tickets. My focus would be the icerun companions, for example. That is a lot easier to manage than getting everything, although I doubt I can get all of them on time.

If it gets too easy to obtain things, there is going to be a flood of everything and it gets boring easily. One way to handle this could be to set daily limits, which in turn makes it impossible to just grind on the weekend and sets the need to check every day. Some of the tasks do seem too grindy compared to the amount of tickets they provide, regardless of how active you are (such as 10 bosses for 6 tickets, combine 30 for 4 tickets), so I would hope to see some rebalancing for future events.
