I've been struggling so hard to get the apparel pieces, and I still haven't been able to get any of the familiars. I've spent over 5 hours grinding and I have three pieces of apparel. That's it. I've been using the reload method on arena and have a decent team for campaign.

Things like this are why the amount of players playing are so low. Everything feels like and endless, awful loop to me.

LW is very very grindy.

As a current grinder, support! Since I've been at home not working, I've had all the time in the world to dedicate to LW (which has basically just been leveling wolves while WW hunting for quite some time, I'm very glad there is something else to focus on now). Saying that, the only reason I personally have been grinding so hard is to build up my supplies as I'll be heading back to work soon. I'm an outlier and definitely feel like the people working hard for what they get don't need to be focused on while the rest of the players are out here struggling. I spend a few hours off of LW a day, and because of that I'm even finding myself struggling to get everything. I'm definitely not going to be selling anything I buy from the shop, I'm not even sure I'll be able to reach one of every item, as I like to do :( Things seem like they will always be stagnant with this outlook, I'm not sure any kind of economy could evolve this way. I wish I had some suggestions on what could work, right now I'm sort of just also venting some frustrations.

I've been grinding pretty hard - maybe not as hard as the true grinders, but it's not even balanced for grinders. I'm so bored of the seasonal arena already.

If the tickets dropped from campaign like they did before the change, or the shop prices were lowered it would be far more balanced.
In-shop confirmation about what is standard and will return in every event vs every icerun event vs "soft retire" would also go a long way. I don't fear missing out on the weekly festival items as I know they will roll around again eventually. But at the moment people fear missing out, as it requires too much effort to get the soft retire items + the icerun items. It should require a little bit of effort to get 1 of everything exclusive to that event, and should require some effort to stock up on multiples of the event, but it shouldn't be so difficult people need to turn it into a full time job. Too easy to get everything and people disengage, too hard and the same thing happens.

I've been grinding pretty hard - maybe not as hard as the true grinders, but it's not even balanced for grinders. I'm so bored of the seasonal arena already.

The Grind: There are a few comments on this thread that call out to me, but this one is big. I currently have 2.5k tickets, and I'm dreading once I finish these last two pass levels. There's no supplemental ticket income, and there's only 2 things to do for tickets: Arena & Campaign. My carpal tunnel is already flaring, and I usually don't have an issue with it when it comes to moving the mouse (now 3-ticking on osrs... I just can't physically do that without hurting my wrist). I'm finding it difficult to find this grind entertaining. At least with activity grinding there's diversity and timers, but this one isn't a timer and is full-force one-or-the-other. It doesn't feel even for effort to payout. I don't mind the prices, but I feel like the ticket drop should be higher if that were the case.

200k Pebble Battlepass: One of my big concerns is the ticket rewards for the pebbles pass. The outfits pieces in total cost 850, and you outright get each of them individually. One level you get an apparel piece worth 300 tickets. After that, it's 100 tickets flat out followed by a 200-ticket item. Shouldn't the values be increasing? And if we're using tickets, the flat price of tickets feels worth less than those pieces. I would've expected the final ticket reward to be able to cover the most expensive item on the list, but it's not even a 3rd of the cost.

Activity Rewards: As well as for ticket outcomes- For a base level task it's 4 tickets. There's 2 version of each task: A flat amount and then twice as much. Example: Explore Icerun 30 times vs Explore Icerun 60 times. Exploring 30 times gives 4 tickets. Exploring 60 times gives 6 tickets. So for twice the effort and time you only earn 50% more tickets. I would suggest to alter the ticket outcomes (give more for the longer tasks) or to remove them and allow for 2 of the same type to show up. It's punishing to earn 50% more when you could've rolled the base value twice.

The Amount of Redeemables: I understand it's to encourage players to grind, but it has the opposite effect (at least for me). I'm a completionist by nature so when something comes out I want to make sure I have all versions. I want to have a full collection. Seeing the amount of consumed companions released deters me from wanting to actually finish due to the price and the grind. This is a personal opinion, but I think slowly introducing the consumed companions by adding more each event would've eased the grind a bit for players. It's overwhelming to feel like we won't have time to collect anything, let alone being able to purchase everything that's soft-retiring.

After the Battlepass is Complete: I would like to propose that after the battlepass completes there's a way to continue earning tickets to lessen the grind. I would suggest 150 tickets per 100 tasks. This lessens the grind minimally, but it allows for players to feel a little less overwhelmed by the state of companion prices. It won't entirely mitigate the grind necessary, nor will the shop be easily attainable, but it will allow players the ability to earn a little more than the small ticket prizes for tasks/arena. Please keep in mind I haven't completed the pass yet, but I think this is a feature that should exist. If it already does, this can be disregarded.

Heavy, heavy grinder here! Support.

I've earned 3,500+ tickets so far and halfway done with level 9 of the battle pass, so I have no doubt I will be able to buy myself everything + grab some dupes of things. The thing is I don't really care at all to try to guess what items will be popular to resell, nor do I care to compete with other grinders selling theirs, nor nor do I really even love the idea of trying to profit off of people who cannot do the insane grind that I can (seriously I'm thinking it's a mental illness I have that if I see a task/have a goal I *must* reach it). Obviously people should have to have some activity on the site to grab the stuff they want, but people who aren't able to get on shouldn't see an overwhelming amount of tickets needed to grab one of everything (10k seems so daunting to look at).

I think the grinders should be rewarded with MS specialty items available in the shop for tickets. I would LOVE if I could use this event to knock out some merle/stripe gene-ing and possibly even grab a Zerda/Volm breed change. Even with some restrictions on this like only being able to grab one of each breed changer and a couple sets of genes it would MASSIVELY motivate me to grind past what I need to do to grab one of everything. These are items I almost never pick up for MS because the CA Shop is seriously competiting with the LW Official MS items. If I see something I really love in the CA store for 50 MS I'm almost always more likely to grab it because I know at any point the creator could just quit LW and stop restocking it. On very rare occasions do I pick up MS genes despite wanting them for most of my wolves. Reward grinders with 'premium' items instead of punishing casuals from having anything.

Few more alterations that would ease the grind for a lot of players, especially newer players:

Guaranteed Ticket Drops from Consumed Encounters: I did a little bit of testing to see if the other consumed encounters outside of Sword 3 granted Activity Boss Completions, which I'll get to in a second, but I noticed they don't guarantee ticket drops. The Snowcat encounters always give a ticket, and I think the rest should too. It's not a big change, but it will supplement nicely for those that don't want to spend their time farming Sword 3 or can't beat the Snowcat for the additional 1 ticket. An addition to this would be increasing the amount of tickets dropped by each encounter- Den is 1 ticket, Sword 1 is 2 tickets, Sword 2 is 3 tickets, and Sword 3 could be 5 tickets to account for the difficulty shift.

Change "Icerun Bosses" to "Consumed Encounters": This would have to come with a little changing to how often these encounters show up, but there are newer users that aren't at Sword 3 or waste a lot of energy in Sword 3 just to encounter either boss and lose (since this still counts, but I'm not sure if it's a bug. If it is a bug, then I support this suggestion that much more). If this task is changed, then it would help players with lower level wolves get drops, level up their wolves, and not feel demoralized by the lack of rewards from encounters.

@Twicup I love al of those ideas and are in full support of them. I know I've touched on a couple of those the day the event started, but the limited forums kind of hid those posts.
I absolutely would love the more difficult tasks to reward double the vouchers of the easier tasks. That just makes sense. And the Battle Pass shouldn't be an additional ten tasks each level. I would love a flat number of tasks per level so it feels like I'm actually progressing instead of coming to the top of a steep hill and losing traction and interest in finishing it.

I agree on this actually! I only mentioned it in the way of a net because that's how it currently works. If the process itself changed to being a collective total, then I would definitely alter the after-battlepass rewards! I am definitely discouraged from finishing 9 and 10 because it takes quite a bit of time to stack up 5 or 6 relevant activities to complete at once.

I have more free time than the average player right now, and while I'm not personally too concerned with my own pace (yet, but I am already not looking forward to having my gaming time monopolized for the rest of the month), I have to say-- I feel so, so bad for new or casual players right now, who don't have either the food stores (especially in the face of the deeply unpopular but apparently-inevitable food nerf) or the spare teams of leveled wolves to split between campaign, the event gauntlet, and the regular site activities. Lorwolf has struggled since its inception with balancing almost every aspect of the site, and seemingly made little headway in tackling any of it.

"Giving grinders something to work for" should be the benefit of being able to get multiple copies of everything if reselling value is important to them-- not that relatively rough grinding should be expected just to "complete" the event. Casual players should be able to reasonably expect to get themselves a copy of most things in an event without much time expenditure each day, since the desire for more than one set of apparel for their wolves still gives them plenty of goals to expand into as they decide how to value their time. Grinders make the higher-tiers of the economy work, but the lifeblood of a game is the average causal player and, most integral to a game's success, their ability to feel satisfied, not disrespected with the investment of their time.

I'm a grinder. I'm between semesters of college right now, so since the event started grinding Icerun tickets has been my all day activity. From grinding all day every day to this point, I've maxed the battle pass and have made around 4200 tickets. That's about half the needed amount to get one copy of every item when taking into account the ones you get from the pass.

Granted that this event runs all month, I'll likely be able to get one of each item even though my next semester starts tomorrow and I will have to leave my grindset behind. However, this does nothing to benefit the economy the way grinders are supposed to. Casual players should be able to get one copy of everything, grinders should be capable of getting multiple copies to sell to those who don't want to spend the time on it. That's how grinders support the economy! When even the most dedicated players can only squeeze out one of everything, they're not likely to sell it. Then casual players won't be able to get what they want, and they won't even be able to buy it off someone else. This is going to create massive scarcity of these items down the line too, that even the cache boxes are unlikely to compensate for well.

This isn't even taking into account that I've had the luxury of sitting on an absolutely ludicrous amount of food to supplement my grinding. New players and those who don't have a moderate cities population worth of food are going to have an additional resource grind on top of the event grind. It's just unrealistic. I really hope this is re balanced before the event ends and not just fixed for the next event.
