Since each pack has their own fishing location I think it’d be not only easy but appropriate to include some fishing activities (the ones that reward vouchers, like killing so many enemies in icerun etc.) in the roster alongside the seasonal events. I understand that currently the fishing update is for the weekly event, but I still think that the already distinct pack locations make it a prime choice for factoring in to the seasonal events, and lore justification could be that you’re gathering food for all the fighting you have to do!

The two issues I can see so far is that Koda automatically defaults to your highest unlocked area, which would be extremely frustrating for people who have the ocean unlocked, which could be (I hope easily) solved by updating Koda to allow you to select which area to fish in.

The other issue is that lots of people don’t have the fjord unlocked yet, and to be honest I’m not entirely sure how to handle this one. My two ideas so far are to either have a way to skip certain activities, or maybe to input a toggle for fishing activities specifically so that they don’t clog up your ‘current’ activities. I favor the toggle idea for the fishing activities specifically as not only would skipping certain seasonal activities become frustrating having to do manually, it could easily be taken advantage of in that people could focus entirely on a certain subset of activities when, to my understanding, the point is to encourage people to interact with all aspects of the season event.

I could totally be overthinking that though, I’d appreciate some more thoughts from others on whether you guys think it would be against the spirit of the event to allow people to focus in on specific activities only! I’m a little unsure on that point since not only is it something I JUST thought of, I also know that I wouldn’t have bothered fighting any of the boss fights and would likely have seldom bothered to do the campaign if I were allowed to focus solely on the arena tasks (I AM Arena Georg after all, lol) so I see encouraging people to interact with all the activities as a good thing. Feel free to debate me on this and convince me otherwise, though!

Another issue I have is that the amount of ripples you get depends on location. Ignoring what you are suggesting, it is not at all benficial for me to spend my time, effort, stamina and limited fishing trip on the first location as I will only get .. 10 ripples? Whereas getting 16 in the third location (currently my highest unlocked).

So apart from requiring the changes you suggested, they would also need to make it so that the amount of ripples you get is bassed on your fishing level, and not the area you fish in.

(I think I touched upon this in one of my many profession rebalancing suggestions, but fishing at this time is the most frustrating and impossible profession to level up, because of A. the abysmal amount of experience you get, and B. the pretty much non-existent growth in experience gained as you level up. (compare this to the increasing xp you get for mining different ores and planting rarer seeds as you progress in levels)

Personally I think every few levels you should gain an extra ripple per fishing trip, and fish in higher areas should give more experience.
