Lost Knucklebones??

So I am new to the game and didn't realize what the den limit was, though I'd asked around enough to know with enough knucklebones you can get a wild wolf to come to your den. I had one say it would join then it told me my den was full. Now when I encounter wild wolves we're back to them running away and leaving the bones again... did my bones for the wolf get eaten up because I didn't have space? I'm not sure how many it takes or how many I had when it happened, any help would be appreciated!

@/Vespur Each encounter with a wild wolf is individual and not related to other encounters. What I mean to say is, that it doesn't take x amount of tries to be successful, or that after being successful you will always be successful again. Every encounter is a complete coin toss. If you win the coin toss, you get a wild wolf, if you lose you get a knucklebone token. I have gone weeks between successful encounters, but I've also had back to back encounters succeed. And the chances of being successul are pretty slim. So the fact that you are now experiencing them running away again is perfectly normal.

That being said, if you win the coin toss, but don't have any den space, you lose out. You don't get the wolf and you don't get a knucklebone token. Always try to have at least one den space free to avoid this issue. Although there's also a bunch of suggestions out there to avoid completely losing out. For example a promt that pops up asking you right then and there to buy an additional den slot so that you can house the just befriended wolf.

Since you are speaking about the bones getting eaten up however; what do you mean by that? The only way to use the knucklebone tokens is through a hunt. In the campaign you don't use up your knucklebones during wild wolf encounters.
I will admit that I am not sure whether it is possible to complete a wild wolf hunt if your den is full, and whether the wolf disappears in that case. If that happened, definitely contact support, because that would just be plain stupid, robbing you off the tokens, the pebbles, the stamina and the time only for the wolf to disappear into nothingness..

Ooh I didn't understand that a "wild wolf hunt" and encountering wolves in the wild were different xD Thank you so much for explaining all of that though!!
