What's the best way to level wolves?

Exp gains seem to be fairly slow in the campaign regions. Is there something I'm missing about leveling my wolves up that might help? Some guide or something? I think I recall hearing that quests grant a fair bit of exp, should I be doing those instead of grinding?

I didn't even consider that! I have the Basidio companion, I'll switch it to one of my lower level wolves. [: Thank you so much!

Seconding the Basidio method! If I have pups that I know I want to be levelled, I'll put a Basidio on them as soon as they're born. Even not playing with them much, I've still reached lvl 4 with pups before they've turned adult before. It's super quick!
