Anniversary Phoenix Companion Soft-Retiring

Has it been confirmed that the 1st Anniversary Phoenix will be returning next year or is it soft-retiring and a Phoenix companion (2nd Anniversary Phoenix) will be returning next year? I know there has been some confusing and the Phoenix will be disappearing in a couple of days.

@Bloodguile the announcement thread says they will be returning next year, so it sounds like a cycling companion rather than a soft-retiring one. I do understand how the name (so explicitly named 1st anniversary) causes confusion though.
