Yeah, unfortunately there was a huge kerfluffle about the lack of communication that's gone on for more than a year & a half at this point-- it culminated in someone reaching out through the KS page (with good intentions, but I don't recommend a repeat) and finally getting a response from the devs.
The response was that there officially won't be one. The head mod of the site-- the only one with the ability to contact the devs directly and pass feedback from users to them after the discord was shut down --stepped down VERY soon after that, but I don't recall if it was the same day as that went down or not. Either way-- they have not replaced this position. Whether it's because they don't care to, or that they cannot afford to, we have no idea! User speculation is allowed to run rampant in their absence.
Last we heard, they are still working on things. We do also know from the initial response that LW is not solvent as a business venture (no shocker, pet sites require people to interface with the userbase and respond to/implement feedback, of which there has been... so much, very little of it used even since the site's closed beta!), meaning not enough money is coming in for the site to support itself. That is also not much of a surprise, since... well. There is not much incentive to buy the premium currency of a site whose only official activity for a long, long time is automated, weekly rotating posts that are still wishing us happy halloween from last year. :P I hear the CA queue can be brutal, but I avoid the CA market like the plague.
So whether we get updates randomly one day or the site continues on the same path it's on now, with only automatic updates rolling on by, until it one day just vanishes, we have no clue and no way to divine it from nothing. Alas. Go girl give us nothing, etc.
