Not sure if this has been reported in an "official" capacity yet, very well could have been since it has existed since the site launched. But lately I've seen a lot of folks having problems with linking their wolves on the forums, and I've not seen many people that are aware of this specific bug and its temp fix, so!
If you try to use the {Wolf(ID)} code, sometimes it will fail to work for what seems like an arcane reason, you have typed it properly, etc.
The bug is that if you swap to Code View, you will see the forums have inserted a chunk of garbage code on their own and nullified the actual code you need.
The fix is that you can manually delete this code, and often* you will only have to do this once, for the first wolf you try to link, so hit preview after you link to your first wolf and see if you need to manually delete the excess lines.
The specific text you're going to be looking for is span class="wolfUserWolfID" and its end tag of "/span" (with their accompanying brackets!)
If you delete that from the {Wolf(ID)} block, it should actually work properly again.
Good luck and I hope that helps some folks with unpredictable/weird linking problems, as tedious as it is to have to remember to check!
