Tracking the Threat Campaign Bug

There's a good chance I'm just doing this wrong, but I seem to be stuck on the Tracking the Threat quest in the campaign. I am prompted to "Look for Signs", then Tell the Varani" and then when I click "Continue Tracking", it shoots me over to a battle screen

There is a chance when you "Look for Signs" that a battle happens instead. So it seems to me that I'm running into an issue where instead of the "Continue Tracking" bringing me to the conclusion of this quest, it sets me on the other path of potentially randomly getting a fight instead of an interaction with the NPC. I can't seem to progress any further on the campaign so would appreciate any guidance or help.

I haven't done the Campaign in a hot minute, so not too sure if I help, but I DO remember this one being difficult to complete. My 2 suggestions are 1: try to go back to the first blip and see if that completes the "talk to Varani" part. And 2, I know one of the quests took FOREVER for me to complete. I just kept getting the wrong result. (So much so, I searched forums and found people mentioning how long it took) It may be a similar one where you just keep getting unlucky. Best of luck!

Appreciate the guidance! Going back to the first region didn't end up doing anything, there wasn't a scenario associated with the quest.

Below is a screenprint of the situational prompt that pops up when I get the Quest, Tracking the Threat. Sometimes, hitting "Look for Signs" sends you right into a fight.

However, sometimes you get the prompts, "Continue tracking" and "Ignore." I have tried hitting "Ignore" which doesn't really get me anywhere. When I hit "Continue tracking" it sends me to a fight scene with the Gaudrey, as if I hadn't been successful in tracking in the first place.

After fighting the Gaudrey, I get the below prompt, which is the same screen if, again, I didn't get a chance to speak with the Varani in the first place. This is mostly why I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong, or if I have a random bug that basically reverts me back to the first RNG decision, of whether or not I find tracks that I can show to the Varani, or if I'm just going to be fighting mobs.

I am pretty sure that the Varani helping you is just not as good as tracking as he says he is lol. He runs you into all sorts of wild beasties before you get to the actual threat.

There are some quests that push you to the next "sword" area of the territory without necessarily TELLING you, so it can be helpful to check the scenarios available for each area. The quest scenario will only show up in the area where you're supposed to campaign.
