@GraveGuardian This conversation is incredibly civil so far but I'm sure the mods will step in if needed. Fangs is the one who brought up going back to FR, and if they like it and the play style more who am I to disagree. I'm not going to try to convince them Lorwolf is for them, but I will fully elaborate my thoughts on all the things that make this update even better than I realized the more I reflect on it.


Jimjim clearly has thought this through so much, and I hope they do not abandon this new system because it solves a lot of issues while benefiting the average player (who isn't grinding nonstop, because they are average) because they can now earn additional rewards they wouldn't have before while still generally being unaffected by the charges. It fits so well into the gameplay loop, and it clearly is a move to incentivize a gameplay style that involves the entire site without forcing someone to do one thing specifically.

Yikes, a lot of people are making a ton of assumptions about me just because they don't agree with what I said. Let's please keep this to a minimum and remain civilized. The point I'm just trying to make is that the current time sink does not scale well in proportion to what we are getting in return. We're also wasting food because we're being locked out anyway. That is all. It's going to be hard to balance things because it would seem like we'd have to re-work the entire economy from the ground up since suddenly everything will be worth lots more.

I think I am confused about this food thing, is food/stamina being wasted now? Or do you mean refeeding your campaigners when the charges are low and therefore the stamina can't be used to its fullest extent? That is totally understandable, and I wonder what could be done to tweak that.

It's because we were already being locked out for not enough stamina before, but it now seems redundant entirely because of this new charge bar. It's barriers on top of barriers. An idea for the auto-exploring would to remove the 20 cap that's currently on it because it doesn't make up for that nuisance of a charge bar being there.

Do you not do farming or fishing or buy food from the MM? Beginners have a hard time with stamina but there are lots of friendly faces around to help them over that hurdle and is a different issue than long-term gameplay. No one I know who plays the game regularly has any issues with stamina at all except if you feed it all into the seasonal gauntlet trying to get one more level… maybe if you elaborate on your play style we can help you solve your problems you’re facing! ❤️ Because other people don't seem to be having them!

Well, I'm used to putting on a show and grinding through a play session on my off days. I'm not entirely sure where this whole thing is going, I just hope it's balanced since our food is limited (and will become MASSIVELY more expensive because of the charge limit being there and we don't be able to keep up with the demand) and we can only hope that this massive crash won't affect those who're just starting too badly since they'll be hitting both of these limits hard.

@Fangs Ohhhh, OK, I see what you mean. I'm personally not too fussed about the charges since they regen for free over time. Food/stamina is a cost that we have to replenish manually and infinitely, but the charges are a renewable cap. We don't even have to work for them to come back -- like fishing or cooking or farming -- we just have to exist.

BUT I do understand what you mean about more barriers to entry. ^^ Fortunately, this is just a time cost instead of an item/effort cost. Maybe it's time for that long-waited cooking update and stamina rework so Cooking is worthwhile.

Also, just throwing it into the wind: getting stuff for doing nothing but clicking a button and coming back later (Koda, auto explore) is awesome. That is stuff I wouldn't have otherwise received since I wouldn't have been playing anyway. Even idle games like Cookie Clicker have you come back to check in to manually update your streak. Maybe not every two hours tho. 😂 I would love to see the cap expand over time.

So you don't farm, or is that part of your grinding? Do you fish and/or collect from Koda? Do you do cooking? I still don't know what your play session looks like...


Food isn't really limited in the long run, unless you don't do anything to get more food ever? It's hard for new players but that's not you. It sounds like there are other solutions than just tweaking campaign when the new system isn't affecting most players the way its affecting you, but if we're misunderstanding something you may need to explain more! If we get the food updates that almost got rolled out a while back, it should help make cooking even more useful which will make stamina even more plentiful.
