Are synergies randomised?

I was looking on the flea market for someone with two tact and a rouge, and first started looking at Volmyrs. I could only look at a few before heading to forums because I noticed that they seemed to have the same synergies, and looking at two of the same (non-Volmyr) breed showed them also having the same synergies.

So how do they work? are they dependant on breed and/or other factors?

Synergies are the same for all members of a breed/species. Synergies are different based on the species itself -- so each companion type has a different synergy, as do the wolf breeds. I have made this guide with a list of all the companions by their synergies, maybe this will help!
