@bitterbuffalo Luminescent Lady saw the bounty and immediately set off for the ranch, bringing her Volcanic Machaira companion with her. They arrived at the ranch and saw the wreckage. It didn’t take long for them to catch up with the other lorwolves circling the Aurox herd. Several lorwolves were trying to pin what must have been a Consumed Aurox when a distorted moo bellowed from within the herd. Lady leapt back as part of the encircled herd suddenly broke free and charged past her. Thundering out from the herd, a Consumed Aurox attempted to sideswipe Lady with its horns. Her companion attempted to leap in the way but was too slow. Lady took the blow, but in a last-ditch effort, she bit down on the Aurox’s horn. The Consumed Aurox stampeded forward dragging her with it and with a shake of its massive horns and threw her off. Dazed, Lady staggered to her feet and scanned the herd, searching for the Consumed Aurox. Unfortunately, it had slipped back into the herd, disappearing from sight.

@Aurelia Keshaun was lazily gliding through the low-hanging clouds of Goldsea when she spotted one of her lorwolf friends flagging her down from the ground. With a mischievous grin, she spun high into the air, tucked in her wings, and plummeted toward the ground. Just before impact, she spread her wings wide, catching herself mere inches above the ground before soaring back into the air and looping around for a smooth landing.

Her friend shook his head at Keshaun’s theatrical aero-acrobatics and tossed her a letter bearing the Aurelian seal. Nervously, Keshaun opened it and immediately groaned. With a sigh, she continued reading and learned that she had been assigned to assist her fellow lorwolves with a Consumed outbreak near the Mistvale border. In Her Highness’s great wisdom, she was also sending a Tidal Arturas, which should be able to provide some much-needed hydration for those participating in the bounty. Disappointed that she had been assigned actual work, Keshaun quickly gathered her things and met up with the Tidal Arturas that would be accompanying her. Not one to waste time, she took to the sky and glided north while the Tidal Arturas lumbered along far below.

It took Keshaun far longer than she would have liked to reach the ranch, as she repeatedly had to circle back for the slow-moving Arturas. When they finally arrived, the lorwolves appeared to have cornered a Consumed Aurox but were struggling to contain the rest of the stampeding herd.Eager to finally join the action, Keshaun flew ahead of the Arturas and climbed high into the sky. From that vantage point, the chaos below began to make sense. She spotted at least three Consumed Aurox scattered throughout the herd, deliberately agitating the healthy animals and driving them toward the outer edges.

Keshaun frowned, for the Consumed weren't simply running with the herd, they appeared to be controlling it. She swiftly descended to communicate her findings to the other lorwolves. After some deliberation, they put a plan into motion. The Tidal Arturas would hold its ground and serve as the center of their maneuver. The lorwolves would drive the herd around it, forcing the Aurox to split while Keshaun watched from above. From there, she could identify the signs of Consumed corruption and guide the lorwolves below as they separated the healthy animals from the infected ones. Keshaun flew to her companion and relayed their part in the operation before quickly ascending into the sky to meet up with the other Volmyr. Her Arturas withdrew into its shell and settled into place, becoming an enormous, immovable obstacle.

Below, the lorwolves began to yip and bark, gathering the Aurox together and shepherding them toward the waiting Tidal Arturas. From above, Keshaun watched the herd's movements. She could see things the lorwolves on the ground couldn't. Whenever a Consumed Aurox pushed against the herd, she spotted the subtle signs of corruption and barked out its location. The shepherding lorwolves listening to her calls, adjusted their movements. The formation shifted, and slowly, the plan began to work.

The herd reached the massive Arturas and slowed, uncertain of the strange object blocking its path. The Aurox split around either side of it, and the lorwolves immediately seized the opportunity, shepherding the two groups apart. Keshaun circled overhead, tracking the movement of every Aurox she could. With her keen eyes guiding them, the lorwolves managed to isolate a portion of the herd that showed no signs of Consumed corruption. Again and again, Keshaun directed them toward the safest openings. The healthy Aurox were gradually peeled away from the Consumed horde until the corrupted animals became increasingly concentrated within the remaining group.

The plan was working. But it was exhausting. The lorwolves on the ground were beginning to tire. Their movements slowed, and their barks grew hoarse. They knew they couldn't stop. If they did, the remaining Consumed Aurox might realize what was happening and break through their formation. Keshaun noticed their faltering pace. She barked out to the Tidal Arturas, and with a gentle shake of its enormous shell, a cool, refreshing mist washed over the exhausted lorwolves, soaking their fur and cooling their overheated bodies, as they passed. The lorwolves perked up almost immediately and as the lorwolves rounded back around to shepherd the dwindling group past the Arturas once more, Keshaun noticed something strange.

The Consumed Aurox had stopped fighting the formation. They were no longer trying to escape. They were bunching together. Waiting. Keshaun narrowed her eyes and descended slightly for a better view. Something was wrong. Then a distorted moo rang out from somewhere within the herd, and the entire group erupted. The mostly Consumed herd suddenly scattered and charged the shepherding lorwolves. Hooves thundered against the earth as dust exploded into the air. Lorwolves barked warnings and scattered in every direction, each being pursued by a raging Aurox.

She spotted one lorwolf stumble and she folded her wings and plummeted. The Aurox bore down on the fallen Bracchus, its hooves pounding the earth. At the last possible moment, Keshaun swooped beneath it and snatched the lorwolf from the ground. She pulled hard on her wings and shot back into the sky, narrowly avoiding the Aurox's horns. The Bracchus clung tightly to her as Keshaun carried them toward the Arturas. She dropped them safely onto its shell before immediately turning back toward the chaos. Another lorwolf cried out for help and Keshaun didn't hesitate. She soared into the air and dove again, snatching a fleeing lorwolf from beneath the charging Aurox, and carried them safely back to the Arturas.

But below, the Consumed Aurox had noticed where their prey was escaping. The corrupted beasts gathered around the Arturas. To them, it appeared to be nothing more than a massive rock. They charged. The first Aurox slammed into the Arturas with enough force to shake the ground. The Arturas barely moved. Another struck. Then another. The Arturas absorbed every blow, its tough thick shell shrugging off the impacts. The Aurox grew more frantic. Not willing to give up, they lowered their heads and drove their horns beneath the shell, attempting to pry the enormous “rock” from the ground. Keshaun hovered overhead, smirking. The Aurox pushed harder, and then the “rock” moved. The Aurox froze in confusion. To their utter surprise, the enormous rock suddenly grew arms and legs. With a heavy step, it shifted its massive body and drove its shell downward onto the Consumed Aurox beneath it.

A few realized what was happening and withdrew. Others were too slow. Their horns became trapped beneath the Arturas's immense weight, pinning them helplessly to the ground. The lorwolves riding on the Arturas leapt from its shell and quickly secured the pinned Consumed Aurox. From above, Keshaun circled the scene, watching the operation unfold.

The healthy herd was safe. Several Consumed Aurox had been isolated and captured. And the remaining corrupted beasts were now cut off from the herd. A grin spread across Keshaun's face. She had to admit it. This was the most fun she had working in a long time. She banked sharply in the air and turned her attention toward the remaining Consumed Aurox.

@MystiTheWolf Arrow flies toward the ranch, her Minimoose sprinting after her. They arrive to discover two separate herds. The larger herd, appearing to be more tame, is being guided safely into the distance, while a smaller, more aggressive herd chases after the lorwolves. Arrow immediately gets to work. Her Minimoose charges in to defend the fleeing lorwolves. From above, Arrow tracks the Aurox’s movements and calls down to her companion, identifying which Aurox are safe to strike and which should be left alone. Together, they are able to rescue several of the fleeing lorwolves.

@Icepaws Envy hears of the bounty and flies toward the ranch, her Sawtooth Snapper waddling after her as fast as its stubby little legs can carry it. Upon arriving at the scene, they see a herd of healthy Aurox safely sequestered away while a group of Consumed Aurox chases after the lorwolves. Ready for a fight, Envy dives into the melee and harries the infected Aurox, giving the lorwolves time to escape. Her menacing companion lumbers in behind her, acting as a shield that the exhausted lorwolves can recover behind.
