Just now I went on 4 fishing trips. Two of them were normal, but the second and fourth ones had... a weird bug. The fishing timer was stuck at 59 seconds, and it didn't go down at all- and yet after about a minute no more ripples happened, but I wasn't sent back to the main fishing page either. I had to reload to fix it. I have two screen recordings I took when I noticed it was happening, but they only really show the lack of ripples and the timer not going down at all.
