Arena Guide

Getting Started

Navigate to the Arena page at the bottom of the Play tab on Lorwolf.com. This is the Arena hub where you can join a game, choose your wolf Model skins, view your Arena Token savings, and browse the Arena Shop.

Model Skins: You can change your Model skins in the Arena to match any of the wolves in your den. Simply click on the dropdown below the previewed skin and select one of your wolves from the list. The skin will now display your selected wolf, which will be how that Model will appear during Arena matches. Other players will be able to see your skin selections when battling against your Team.

Arena Tokens: Arena Tokens are awarded after every Arena match to the players who place 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. These players are awarded 5, 3, 2, and 1 Tokens, respectively. The Arena Tokens can be used to purchase anything within the Arena Shop.

Arena Shop: The Arena Shop is loaded with predetermined items that may change throughout the year. These items can be common, legendary, and anything in between. Some items can only be obtained through the Arena Shop.

Arena Layout

Starting

The Arena layout will change depending on the device used, however the general layout is Combat Window > Player Ranking > Round > Your Team > The Bench > Synergies > and the Model Store.

Combat Window: Where battles take place. Because Lorwolf combat is entirely automated, you can sit back and watch the battles unfold.

Player Ranking: All 10 participants and their health bars will display next to the Combat Window. This is the Player Ranking, where the player with the most health is shown on top. When a battle is not in progress, they are listed out in order from the most health to the least health. Each participant also has a Spectate button next to their name, which you can click on to spectate another participant to see how their battle is going.

Round: Displays the current round as well as your health bar. Underneath that is your level and current Paw savings.

Arena Player Levels: The Arena Player level determines how many Model slots are available in your Team and on your bench. There is only one slot available on the Team and bench when beginning a new match. After each round, you are given one XP point which increases your player level, allowing more and more slots to unlock.

Paw Savings: Paws are awarded after each round depending on the player's victory, defeat, win streak, loss streak, and interest.

Victory: +1 Paw, Defeat: +0 Paws, Win Streak: up to +3 Paws, Loss Streak: up to +3 Paws

Interest: +1 if you have >= 10 Paws, +2 if you have >= 20 Paws, +3 if you have >= 30 Paws, etc.

Your Team: The Models you place in Your Team slots are the ones that fight during Arena battles. These Models determine your Synergy levels and your overall success during the Arena. Building a successful Team comes down to Model level, Synergies, Abilities, and Placement. Read "Building a Successful Team" below to read more about this section.

Bench: The Bench is used as storage for Models that are not currently being used, where players can collect and combine new Models. Think of this as a player bench during a sporting event; the players here are not actively being used in the game.

Synergies

Synergies: Displays your Team's Synergy levels as well as all of the extra abilities you can achieve by reaching certain milestones. If you hover over the darker gray areas of the Synergy bars, you will see what new abilities you can unlock by acquiring a certain number of Synergies. For example, choosing a Model that has 2 Healer and a Model that has 1 Healer Synergy will unlock Healer(3) - All allies start the battle with a healing over time effect. This lasts 2 turns. Read the "Building a Successful Team" below for more information about Synergies, or visit the Synergies guide.

Shop: Displays four randomly selected Models that you can purchase and add to your team. You can see more Models by clicking on the Refresh button, which will add four new randomly selected Models. After each round, the player is given a free refresh. Players must use their Paws to buy from or refresh the Model Store.

Playing the Game

To begin an Arena match, click on the Find Match button. This will add you to the queue. The game will randomly select 9 other players who also wish to join a match, which can take up to a couple of minutes. If no other players are found, it will fill AI bots. Once the 10 slots are filled, the Arena Match will load.

You will have approximately 30 seconds to select your first Team member for the first round. This Model can be selected from one of the four displayed Models in the Model Store. This Model is then added to the your Team.

During the first 3 rounds, players will fight bots, or AI models. You can view the first round in the Combat Window which will show your selected Team fighting the bots. Based on your Team's effectiveness, you will be victorious or be defeated by the bots. The results of the battle are displayed at the end of the Round on the results screen. The top left shows your name and the amount of health you lost while the top right shows your opponent and their lost health. The bottom of the screen will display any Paws you have earned during this round. This marks the end of Round 1.

Round 1-3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 .... etc. are filled with bot enemies, or Bosses. These Bosses are oftentimes more difficult to defeat than other players, so you must be prepared for these rounds.

Losing rounds means you will lose Arena health, and you will drop lower in the Player Rankings. Winning rounds means you can stay in the match longer, and potentially win the game.

After each round, there will be a short amount of time where players can reassess their Team. You can buy more Models from the Model Store, combine them to reach higher levels, and sell Models to get more space. You can also use this time to Spectate other players to see how their battle went.

You can navigate away from the Arena page at any time while competing. The match will continue without you. You can return at any time to continue playing.

Winning the Game

The game ends when there is only one surviving player left. The top three winners in the Arena are those who have the most health at the end of the game. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners are given 5, 3, 2, and 1 Arena Tokens, respectively.

Building a Successful Team

With each successive Round, players must continue to build their Team and try to strategize their Team Synergies. You can do this in multiple ways; by combining the same Models to get higher star levels, and by unlocking Synergy abilities.

Combining Models: Team members can become more powerful by combining with Models of the same type. For example; combining three 1 star Bears makes a 2 star Bear, and combining three 2 star Bears makes a 3 star Bear. 3 Stars is the maximum level for a Model. Every Model starts out with 1 star. The Bench is very important for leveling up your Team Models. You must carefully prioritize which slots need to be used in order to combine more and more Models.

Synergy Abilities: One way to upgrade your Arena Team is by unlocking special Synergy abilities. Each Model comes with a certain number and type of Synergy points, represented by the circle icons above their image. To learn more about Synergies, visit our Synergies Guide.

Placement: Where you place your Models in your Team can be just as important as who is on your Team. Your Team will be divided into front line and back line positions. The front line Models are the ones in the first two slots in Your Team. The back line Models are those that fill out the last three slots of your Team. When fighting, most Models will prioritize the front line enemies first, so its important to have strong Models in those slots.

Models that have stronger abilities or Synergy types, such as Protector, do well in the front lines. Models that have less of these traits are normally weaker and would be better suited to the back lines. Some Models, like Assassins, are able to attack back line enemies first.

Tips

  • Resource management is the name of the game! (But not really though, its called the Arena). Make sure to find a nice balance between saving to gain extra interest and spending Paws on refreshing the Shop to find Models you need.
  • Try to have over 10, 20, or 30 paws before each round so that you can start earning extra Paw interest
  • Higher Synergy levels = higher success
  • Research Model abilities before you begin
  • Spectate successful players to see what Models make up their Team
