I am actually with Reanimagpie on this--I like being able to have as many wolves as I like be expecting, and choose the order they actually nest and give birth. I don't have a good alternative solution, but I can see a pebble fee to Nana being a decent one. Or maybe just an account setting, since I am not totally sold on making the solution to this issue be a fee interaction? A “Send ready to nest wolves to nest automatically if there is a nest slot available” check box? Mainly it's just that I actually like the system as it is and would be sad to lose it.

If the “give birth” step is removed, and the wolf automatically gives birth 24 hours after nesting, how would they resolve the issue of there not being enough den space for the new wolves to automatically enter your den? Would the space have to be reserved for 24 hours somehow? Seems a bit awkward.

If the “nesting” step is removed, then there would no longer be any limit on how many wolves can be pregnant and preparing to birth at any one time in a den, which could lead to large "puppy mills." I am unsure if this is a real problem since den space is still a thing, but pups could be abandoned.

Overall, I get the frustration around having that extra step, but I appreciate it as a mechanism to limit the wolf birth rate. I also like being able to time when a litter is born in an attempt to get an ID I want. The solution of toggling or paying for an automatic nesting and birthing “doula” service (like Nana with companions) could be a good solution to give users a choice.
