Change the Fishing game from time limit to fish caught limit.

I find that fishing is unlike the other games on Lorwolf, I don't like it. Maybe I am in the minority and can be ignored-- that is fine! Not everything has to appeal to everyone, but hear me out.

All other activity games on Lorwolf are very passive, automatic, set and forget. Its almost like an idle game. I can set things up, and then go explore other ventures while things complete. Start mining, then go handle my crops, check in on cooking, etc.

Fishing requires me to stare at the screen and click and do nothing else. I cannot check any other activities, I cannot turn my head away or I will miss fish, I cannot engage in anything else. Just stare at a static aquatic image waiting for a ripple. It doesn't suit the rest of the games play-style and I really dislike it.

I suggest changing it from a time limit to a fish caught limit.

This would allow players to fish more casually at their own pace. They could continue to engage the rest of the sites activities in the same way the rest already allow for. It also just makes more sense to be told “alright you have been given permission to catch 12 fish” instead of “you have 60 seconds, go” to me as well.

Each trip/area can allot different amounts if needed for balance or whatever, or as you level up fishing you could be allowed to catch more fish? But please, please, please! – Let me take as long as I want, as distractedly as I want, to catch my 8~10 fish or whatever you can get in a minute right now. The game can stay the same otherwise.

i dont mind fishing , but i would prolly do a LOT more fishing this way, it is anxiety inducing to have the 60 second time limit

so i do agree!

I fully agree with this idea. I love everything about lorwolf EXCEPT for fishing. I dread having to do it and I really only do it when I absolutely have to (eg. Fishing Festival). I have a really hard time focusing for any period of time just staring at a screen, and it honestly stresses me out. I get super jumpy when I see a ripple and end up with a ton of misclicks, too, resulting in missing fish.

I would genuinely prefer fishing to be a passive or leisurely experience.

I actually much prefer the more active characteristics of fishing. I find the passive tasks very boring.

That said, I can't see how changing it to a fish cap would worsen the experience of players who prefer active tasks, since it would convert it from a mandatory active game into one where you can get similar results with a more passive playstyle without changing the substance of the minigame, so +1.

The only drawback I see is that it maybe would take away the variability in prizes and some of the immersion by lessening the impact of missing a fish, but I don't personally feel that alone to be significant enough to warrant keeping timer gameplay

Support! At least a few times a day, fishing lags and freezes for me meaning I may only get 1-5 fish instead of 10 or 12. It's frustrating to waste the stamina!

I would be fine with a 30 minute cap time per stamina hit or a limit of how high you can stack the fish (so say your limit is 10 fish right now, 40 fish per stamina bar, you can never accumulate more than that to fish at a time)

Huh, this is a really interesting suggestion! I can’t say I’m opposed to it if the fishing trips are reworked. I’m one of the people who enjoys fishing minigames but I agree that the timer can be quite stressful and you can’t look away for a (maximum of 4) minutes. Hard to juggle fishing and other tasks I’m doing.

But I have to agree with @/Cent above, it‘s similar enough and removes pressure. As long as the fish cap isn’t low and if treasure is not counted as fish, I’m fine. I would prefer treasure to be counted as a surprise bonus.

I really like this. Fishing is mega tedious and I'm already bored to tears of it. At least with mining it's a click and I can forget about it. I liked the minigame at first but like… you can only stare at that single pond so many times before it numbs the brain… and it takes forever to unlock new areas, too. I'm only level nine. :(
