Support, I dread whenever the catch 15 fish task comes up. This would make it at least a little bit more bearable

Also, even if this specific suggestion doesn't get implemented, I would love to see those 10 second gaps between bites removed. It's incredibly dull to have to stare at a static image for 10 seconds with nothing to do, and it has at times lead to me needing to take 3 trips to catch 15 fish because RNG decided to be mean to me. I feel like the only time it should ever take me 3 trips to collect 15 is if I miss bites

I like the fishing mini-game, but I also just like Whac-A-Mole-type games in general.

I like the idea to change it to a fish caught-limit instead of a timer, less because the timer stresses me out, but more because staring at the fishing mini-game for a minute where most of it is just waiting, is incredibly boring. Without the timer I could at least multi-task without worrying about missing a fish when I look away for a second.

In addition, maybe this change would also make it possible to remove the “fishing-trips” mechanic.
Having to go back to the main-page and start a new trip just feels unnecessary and tedious to me.

So instead of having an “available-fish-limit” of 10 for the starting area and 4 available trips that slowly replenish,
you could have an “available-fish-limit” of 40 for the first area and that is what slowly replenishes instead.
That way you could catch all 40 fish in one trip and then wait for 1 hour for the fish-limit to replenish, or you could just catch as many fish as you need, leave the game early and then catch the rest of the fish later.

Every area could have its own separate “fish-limit”. That way, being able to go on more “trips” if your wolf has the stamina for it, would be a nice reward/incentive for unlocking the other areas and would also make the wolf's stamina actually matter.

Right now the only reason for the wolf’s stamina to matter at all (since it recovers at the same rate as the trips and 4 trips equal a full stamina bar) is if you don't have enough adult wolves to dedicate one of them solely to fishing.
If fishing trips would cost no stamina (in the current system) it would change nothing for everyone who doesn't use their “fishing-wolf” anywhere else. (You only need 5 wolves to have enough to fill out the parties in Campaign/Mining/Fishing without any overlap).

either this or make the fishing time shorter with more spawns because having to stare at this page for 60s is so boring i dont do it much :/

Full agree. I hate the fishing as it is right now. (I really like wolfie11's suggestion and GardenOfEden's suggestion.)

I agree. I find staring at a static image while waiting for a ripple is incredibly boring. And having to do it repeatedly is very tedious. I've pretty much ignored the fishing event thing because it's just not fun. Having a more passive fishing option that matches the other professions would be much better. Maybe keep the minigame an alternative for those who like it. But since it seems to have a 10-fish limit anyway, it would be nice to have a passive option with the same fishing limit.

Fishing definitely needs a revamp. If it has to be so involved then it needs to be less boring.

Personally I'd prefer a big overhaul where you need to craft/buy gear and are more actively involved with the fishing. Ex, you choose where to cast and how deep to cast based on your available gear and maybe like weather conditions, then you can jig or trawl etc., and you get different fish based on their behaviors that you can learn. Say: Bettas prefer shallows, catfish prefer deeper areas, bait preferences, you need line of a certain strength to successfully reel them in, etc., Your level gives you a success bonus and access to better gear/areas. That kind of a thing. Wouldn't have to be all of these elements--but just something that requires actual thought.

But I understand that all of that is way outside of staff budget/manpower and the overall game has bigger priorities. OP's solution seems like a pretty good option. Seems like it would be pretty doable to adapt the existing system to it.

i like this a lot! i almost never do fishing, i just dont really like it very much and the timer is pretty much why
id also like a lot more added to fishing in general, like maybe craftable gear for it! what @/rabscuttle suggested is super cool too
