[From Bug-Section] Males Placed on cooldown after Removal from Stud Flea Market?

https://www.lorwolf.com/Forum/View?id=4021

For reference to the original topic ^ I was discussing this both on the forum and discord with a few other users. Why is the in-game flag being ON the market and not the breeding itself? If anything, this makes me and other users inclined NOT to put our males up for stud for fear of being penalized if they don't happen to breed during their time on the market.:

I wonder what the rationale for the mechanic is because I would think the trigger/in-code flag should be the breeding itself… not being on the stud market. That is, assuming their intent is to keep people from breeding males twice. It would still get the job done/prevent that from happening.

Yes please, can we make this not a thing? I set the price a touch too high on the one male I wanted to stud out that I had and now I have to wait a week due to a changed mind with no one getting any puppies from it.

Possibly a pop up warning the player that their wolf will go into resting? All I see this mechanic doing is discouraging people from putting wolves up for studding.. which is clearly not the intention of the mechanic.

this happened to me today.

i listed my ww for stud but for the wrong amount of ms. i canceled the listing and he was immediately put on a week breeding cooldown with zero warning. it was incredibly frustrating :(

maggotjuicebox gave clarification on discord that it's not a bug, listing is supposed to put your wolf on a cooldown. he's going to ask about the reasoning behind it (thanks!)

A little late but I want to add my support, I was just going to post this! I made the mistake of putting my only volymr up for stud and I'm not getting any bites. I would have bred him with my own wolf at this point, but she was still a puppy when I put him up, now I have to wait on his cool down.

Support! I really don't get the reasoning behind this if it's intended and not just a bug. Why penalize a player with a cooldown if their wolf doesn't sell? I get the cooldown is needed when one breeds to not oversaturate the market and stuff like that, but why just listing?

I have to (in my opinion) undersell my stud just to be sure he actually breeds and he doesn't get a cooldown of a week for nothing.

Big support! I (and with me many others) have already voiced this opinion during beta and EA, and I'm honestely surprised it hasn't been changed yet. I see no reason whatsoever that could warrant the way it currently works.

Support!!

This on top of no private studding option could potentially discourage players from breeding their wolves the intended way, and may end up doing more “riskier” options, like sending your wolf to someone else's den temporarily to breed, which defeats the purpose of studding through the flea market

Support. This combined with the fact that the cooldown gets reset back to the full cooldown if someone buys the studding makes this the most weirdly designed and unnecessarily punishing studding system I've ever seen. It's literally a cooldown that only exists if your wolf Doesn't breed. There's no point in that, it just punishes players for no reason. So if you list a stud for 7 days and it gets used on the last day… hope you're ready for double cooldown, I guess!

I support this because like many others I found this out the hard way on my silver wolf. I didn't get any takers after a couple of days so decided to use him myself and to my dismay he is on cooldown. for nothing. I also think as the user above stated a double cooldown is completely unnecessary and punishing.

Beyond agree here! I sent in a support ticket thinking it was a glitch, only to be given a one sentence “It's working as intended, this ticket is closed now” response- the brusqueness of which made me feel like the responder thought it should be obvious, but it is a Cruelly Punishing mechanic; doubly moreso now that I see someone has pointed out that a studding being completed RESETS IT? So if I were to put up a really pretty wolf for 7 days, and someone got the stud an hour before it expired, I'd have to wait TWO FULL WEEKS instead of just the market listing of 1 week?

This game is amazing, but this specific developer “decision” erased ALL the fun of a breeding mechanic I liked conceptually, since only 1 other site I know of has a mechanic like this; albeit with No male breed cooldown.
