Giant list of QoL suggestions

I'll be gradually expanding this list as I think of more things rather than making separate threads, hopefully it doesn't get buried because of that!

Please do leave your thoughts on these, if you can think of counter arguments as to why some of these shouldn't be implemented, I'll hear you out and maybe reconsider and remove them from the list. Additionally, feel free to suggest your own ideas and I may add them!

New ideas I add will be in bold until the next edit.


Arena:

  1. Make bots a little more apparent, maybe put the word "Bot" in parentheses, colorize it, or add a little bot icon next to their names
  2. An automatic “Leave game” prompt when you reach 0 health
  3. Display the name of the companion somewhere
  4. Make the other player's profile clickable through their name without having to spectate them first
  5. Add a chat? :) Only visible to the players in the current session, not global

Campaign:

  1. Auto-align the battle window to the center of the screen similarly to the fishing minigame, otherwise it gets cropped off at the bottom on some monitors
  2. Hover over the wolf to see how much stamina it has without having to exit to the campaign menu first
  3. Line up the buttons to avoid accidental misclicks, like ignores or “Return to map”

Cooking:

  1. A “Fill” button to fill the pot with food items from the selected stack Now automatically selects max amount!

Hunting:

  1. Show how much stamina a wolf has without needing to add it to the team first
  2. Make wolves listed on the flea market not appear as available for hunting

Flea market:

  1. Memorize the stack number for listings; useful when mass-listing large stacks (mass-listing introduced!)
  2. Memorize the duration of the previous listing and auto-fill it
  3. When sorting by price, put the earlier-expiring listings before the later expiring ones, in case their price is the same
  4. Add page navigation buttons to the top of the page as well
  5. Auto-clear the name when the category is changed
  6. Add an option to search for 4-digit wolves more easily; for example, a drop-down menu like in Flight Rising or an input field for ID ranges (ideal)
  7. Canceling your own auctions in place of the “Buy” button
  8. Filter wolves by generation other than Wild Wolf (G1), e.g. G2

Mole market:

  1. Show the total price when choosing “Buy All”

Forums:

  1. Make profile picture background match dark theme like in the profile top-right
  2. An option to directly upload images to forum threads from your clipboard; they embed just fine, but when you try to submit the post, it displays a warning, so clearly the site can detect and embed them, so why not submit them?
  3. Add a button to copy a username with one click for easy pinging
  4. When you make a forum post, automatically scroll down to that post
  5. Ability to follow and bookmark threads (difference: get notified for new post or save without notifications)
  6. Ability to delete posts
  7. Ability to modify thread titles
  8. Display more than 10 threads per page in every subforumm or let us choose how many to display

Notifications:

  1. Add a 0 to the notification/message item, but without the red background, it looks weird being completely empty
  2. Item previews to sold and expired listings to avoid having to click them all individually

Personal messaging:

  1. Include item/wolf attachments with your message instead of being forced to send them as a separate one
  2. When a trade is completed (confirmed by both parties), make the trades go into the players' inventories automatically (it took me so long to figure out why I wasn't receiving my side of the trade the first time)

Profile:

  1. Display how many den slots are occupied out of the total number

Inventory:

  1. Learn recipes without having to go to the crafting page (caused me a lot of confusion)
  2. Selling items: automatically select the entire stack instead of 0 units
  3. Make items interactable on click instead of hover, or make clicking an alternative way of bringing up item tooltips and interaction boxes

Misc.:

  1. Add the option to view dates as DD/MM/YYYY; a 24-hour clock option would also be nice!
  2. Rename the “Demo” to something else, now that it is no longer a demo but more of a wolf preview workshop

Ideas for site:

  1. A pup preview option for same sex wolves, to preview possibilities before deciding to sex change one of the wolves
  2. A more general one: Pup preview page where you input IDs of different wolves; I've had to buy wolves just to check what the pup possibilities are, ended up not liking them, which means wasted moonstones. This would also eliminate the need of waiting until a cooldown is over to use the pup preview.
  3. The option to open up a wolf in the Demo, since you are currently able to load a wolf by ID, this would essentially be a shortcut
  4. Apparel preview for non-custom apparel, and a more distant followup: a dressing room to preview different apparel before deciding to buy it
  5. Followup: Ability to scale up the apparel previews when clicked on
  6. Followup followup? Previewing the apparel on one of your wolves

I update this frequently. Let's make LW better! :)

for campaign it would be nice if all the action buttons were lined up, so you dont have to move your mouse all over to click them, and then accidentally click on ignore or back to map

alco clicking icons for recipes and items to activate them would be much better than hovering and then trying to go to the “learn recipe” button to activate a new recipe

@Jackmar I considered adding the first one but left it out but I'm going to add it since I've definitely accidentally clicked “back to map” before :')

Not entirely sure what you mean by the recipe one though.. in fact, I can't even figure out how recipes work, for some reason I don't get the “learn” prompt for all of them, even if the level is lower than my crafting level :p

@hunterZ on my computer, to learn a recipe, i need to hover over the icon and lift my mouse to the button. clicking the recipe icon itself would be much easier. same with dropping ore, and probably other areas i'm missing, too!

does that make a bit more sense? adsjhf its been a long day haha

edit: in the mole market i can click the recipe and it pops up the buy menu. in the crafting page, i need to hover and move mouse to learn the recipe. clicking the icon itself is soooo much easier imo

@Jackmar oh, I get what you mean! Yes, I agree that clicking would be better, this hover to interact with items feature is kind of irritating at times, since the box that pops up can easily disappear when you accidentally move your mouse too far. It also behaves weirdly on a touchpad, and I use my laptop without a mouse quite frequently, and it comes with a whole set of its own problems… but that's not really any individual site's fault, touchpads are just terrible for games, lol. Fishing is a pain.

I'll generalize this as info boxes & tooltips becoming clickable!

@hunterZ yes that's exactly it! too many times i've spam clicked wondering why it wasn't working, and then moving my mouse too much and the box vanishing haha

oof yeah i bet some minigames are bad with touchpads tho D:

I think I actually caught one of these being added to the game while I was cooking? I'll cross out the suggestions that eventually got added, will be nice to look back at this list in a few years time to see how far the site has come :)
