I think it'd be cute to have a little box in or above the companion box so you can nickname the companions! Or perhaps it changes the spot that says Companion into the nickname. It'd clear out when swapping them out and shouldn't affect the companion page.
This is a very quick mock up where it would be in the spot where it just says Companion normally. In this case I changed the nickname of the Onyx Dustraven to Murkrow.

I spent a little while trying to figure out if we could nickname companions or not-
mega support! especially since we can fight alongside our companions it would be great if they had a name.
Yes, I would love to have this as a feature! Especially with the wolves who I want to have a specific or aesthetic companion for them!
I'm thinking it could be linked to the specific creature, and be renamed at will, or specific to the wolf itself. Obviously able to be changed at will, much like the wolves themselves.
It would be so fun to see what names people come up with for their companions, especially as pairings.
