Farming: Any benefit from planting pricier seeds?

Hi,

The mole market didn't have most of my usual seeds in stock yesterday when I went to buy them, so I bought some lettuce seeds. These are quite a bit more costly than, corn, wheat, rice. I was curious if there was any benefit to planting the more expensive seeds?

The pricier crops give you 10 stamina, instead of 5. (I don't know if they give you more experience, though, as I've not been paying attention to that part.)
