Urgent communication needed.

I already have a thread for communication that has a lot of amazing feedback on it. (all page should be read there by devs) But I cannot stress enough how important this is so I'm making a new one with new points.

Please, communicate with the players what changes are being made and considered. No mentions of changing the current MS model for expansions is not good, especially when so many people are upset about it. We need to know the dev's thoughts on this.

Custom apparel is user-made money for this website, consider this a better route for earning money- support artists and artists will support you. We are incentivized to charge MS for our work as the token itself costs them. Make the site enjoyable and people will want to support you.

Lorwolf should not be fighting to dominate player's time- it should not be a fulltime job to progress. We should not be encouraged to skip everything in the scenario for hours or days to get a single guaranteed wolf, or spend real money to get a few more slots in a mine cart. Nobody should have to spend 30+ minutes in arena for miniscule rewards.

Why were the initial numbers for Wild Wolf tokens chosen- what was the purpose of these punishing encounter rate number changes, and was this feature actually tested and deemed reasonable? Why is there a hunt at the end of this- a mission that requires both time and pebbles to complete- even after this gruelling task?

Communicating with us is beyond important right now. People will leave, and an immediate change is required. Morale will continue to decrease and player count will drop unless the devs themselves are more open about decision making and the direction of the site as a whole- and we understand what is happening and truly have our feedback considered. At the moment- all of these changes feel punishing and hostile to the users, which is a dangerous situation to be in.

Consulting your players- those who will be giving you money- is absolutely necessary right now. Perhaps more team members are necessary too to make sure everything is well tested and well thought-out before release.


Update to clarify my thoughts a little further.

I'm willing to bet that most players will be very understanding if reasoning and explanation is given. These are the early days, things are sure to go wrong, things might not be perfect to begin with, mistakes might be made. As long as that is addressed and understood the uproar will be much lower and any worries can be minimised.

When large silences are followed by a poorly received update, people will worry- a lot. Reassurance by knowing the thought processes, and hearing back from the team will go a long way to fix this.

When it comes to large features like WW tokens, perhaps the community could have been given a heads up on the rough estimates of token amounts, drop rates, and encounter rates (or at least the token amount and drop rate.) Before the change went live- the criticism could have been taken before the feature's launch and things would go a lot smoother.

Please at least tell us about the moonstone situation. At this point I don't care if it's a “yes we're considering changes” or a “no we're leaving it as is”. I just want some form of acknowledgement. Any.

Seconding this. I just joined and I'm seriously not impressed. It feels like the devs goals right now is to make money via forcing extreme player playtime and MS usage, not to make a pet site :/

I agree with it honestly.
Like on the custom apparel front it's really concerning that in order to make something for the community to use, you pretty much either have to scrape together every last stone you can or just straight up spend your own cash that's very likely intended to go towards other things.

My own QPP's been making up a set of hoodie apparel to eventually put up on sale once they've gathered enough interest and funds to get the tokens, and you wanna know what one of the things I've heard them get offered when trying to see whether people want it.

A sponsor, I think this says enough about the state of moonstones as it is if you have to ask for someone to sponsor you just to get a cool idea of yours out to the public. What if it doesn't go down as well as you hoped? What if you don't get back as many stones as you took the sponsor for?

Now you're stuck owing premium currency to someone more than able to just pay a couple quids to Lorwolf to get more of it for themselves when you can't. I used to think the situation with MS was annoying but better than Gems down on Flight at least.

This has really changed my tune for the worse.

at this point i mostly wish that patch notes were clearer. “Updated Emerald and Amber Guppy items” - how so? “Updated Terms of Service” - how so??

the very fast response to today's knucklebone update gives me hope, but there is still room for improvement.

Agreeing with everything here. While I expected this game to have issues in its early life, feeling in the dark about its future and whether or not I can continue to reasonably play is very concerning. The fact that communication regarding the original WW tokens and now the rollback of the WW nerfs happened very quickly, yet no real answer has been given on ms vs. pebble balance doesn't sit well with me. Personally, so long as there is open communication about any issues and feedback is legitimately being taken into consideration, I am satisfied. I would rather have a “We know about the imbalance between P2P and grinders vs F2P and casuals and are working to fix it.” or even a “We made this game more money and time intensive on purpose.” than be in limbo.

I agree, perhaps a thread for current discussed topics, or things staff are considering.

I don't like that a lot of our questions are answered in threads that are hard to find, meaning you have to go digging to find a commonly asked question, because clearly we are being responded to, but not in a place where people can find!

It seems that Quiche was quietly given the Community Manager title on the About Us page, which is great because she's been super responsive in the forums! I'm also wondering why this wasn't announced, though, especially since her forum title is still Moderator.

Agreed very much, and worriedly so as well.

I feel like perhaps there need to be some more voices in the big decision-making as well. It's no longer beta, its a site where people play and are asked to donate real money. I think there must be some degree of professionalism to this, from the people who run it. That said I'm glad things were addressed quickly today.
