I took a bunch of Jocols into the Gauntlet (LvL 10 mom and her for lvl 1 kids) and on battle level three the kids were defeated, and mom managed to get rid of the last enemy on her own. Mom did not have any poison effects to my knowledge (at least none that would have taken her health down to 0) and was at about half health. It showed defeat instead of victory and said she was out of health. I watched the battle instead of refreshing so I am fairly sure of what happened.
