Adding optional keyboard controls would be a massive accessibility improvement on computer for people with carpal tunnel or similar issues. It might also help people who are on laptops with track pads.
I suggest this to remedy two things:
- The repetitive, quick-paced clicking
- When progressing through encounters in Explore, the next button to click isn't always in quite the same spot as the previous one
What this results in is a click-pivot-click-pivot type of repetitive movement, which for me is the exact thing that causes me quite a bit of physical pain in my hand, wrist, and forearm. Using a mobile device is a fine sometimes solution that I do often, but it shouldn't be the only way to engage in a site activity pain-free.
I suspect that many others have more stamina for this type of activity than I do, which is alright. People are responsible for taking breaks when they need them. But I am not physically able to be in Explore for 30 minutes. I had this issue on FR's Coliseum as well before they implemented optional keyboard controls, which is why I'm suggesting the same solution here. It really does help a ton in how often I'm able to engage with and benefit from a game's grinding mechanics.
