Studding Cooldown

I've seen many people complain about the current system - I feel it MAY be in place to prevent breeding with wolves you have up as studs, which is honestly fine, but it seems that if you change your mind and take them back down, the cooldown remains. So how about this:

Make it so the stud's cooldowns say Currently Studding.. - Or something to that affect, with no timer involved, and just have it trigger when a wolf is set up for stud, and have the wolf go back to normal after being taken back down.
Naturally if a stud is bred with, THEN put the cooldown ofc ofc.

I have no idea about how this would work in coding at all, but I figured it would be a nice idea c: Hope it gets some consideration!

These two work tirelessly to bring home bones as well as new friends. Sometimes they need a break-
If your wolves need a nice rest as well, why not give it to them?

Support, it seems redundant to have the wolf be on cooldown if it did not get bred during studding.

In the breeding menu, certain wolves are greyed out with the reason they can't breed under them. For example, “For sale in Flea Market,” or “On breeding cooldown.” Studding is a FM listing, so it should be noted here as “For sale in Flea Market” if it isn't already. I can't test it to check because I will be punished with an unnecessary cooldown after I remove the stud listing lol.

So I think the solution for preventing this already exists. If it doesn't work this way, it should. Sales and studdings are both FM listings so having males that are listed for stud be greyd out in the breeding menu the same way wolves for sale are makes sense.

I still have major issue with the cooldown thing though. Regular FM listings don't activate cooldown so a studding FM listing shouldn't either. The cooldown should not be activated when studs are listed, only if the listing is bought.

Agree with all of this. Having a wolf up for stud not sell and then having to wait days to try again really just feels like getting kicked while you're down.

Bumping this back up because I just accidentally listed a wolf for pebbles instead of moonstones, cancelled it and now I have to wait 10 days before I can stud him again, despite literally nothing happening. This feels very punishing to players.

IMMENSE SUPPORT!!! There is no reason why it shouldn't be treated like a normal FM listing and just have interactions limited, while listed.

It truly does feel punishing. Especially in Gaia's case of an accidental listing. No one should have to wait up to 10 days (18 for volmyr) just to simply relist their wolf.

support as always.

it is very punishing. i knew about this and still managed to list SEVEN wild wolves for stud instead of normal, without noticing until the last listing. because there's not even a confirmation or warning and the menus are indistinguishable. it's too easy to mess up and you can't even correct it ;(

you have to press a confirmation button when you are breeding wolves the normal way. why not for studding? does the timer start upon listing instead of breeding due to a technical limitation or does that serve a purpose?? staff doesn't seem to answer this besides "this feature is working as intended and is not a bug," so what is it...?

Agreed with this, my friend put a wolf to stud and removed him before they bred with anyone—imagine our surprise upon finding out they still had a cooldown even though no breeding happened. :')

Support! They're listed on the FM as potential studs, the studding doesn't happen until they're bought through the FM so it only makes sense for the cooldown to start after the studding itself actually happens.
