A way to change wolf abilities

I was thinking it'd be great if I could use a bracchus in the higher level areas, but a single kit is easier to use.

So how about an item that changes the stats of a wolf to be a different wolf species? I was thinking it could be like a "battle token" and could have the stats/abilities of a kit or any other wolf species, so multiple tokens available of different wolf types. That way everyone can use the wolf/species they prefer and still be able to go in with one wolf and a companion they prefer for the campaign. :D

I hope my idea was helpful. :)

Suport! I currently can't even play with the stats of the more expensive breeds because, well, they're expensive. The only place I can use those stats is the arena, but it's set up much differently than the campaign and gauntlet.

Considering the way that the campaign and gauntlet work, it is actually incredibly frustrating that all stats are fixed. I can't lie, some synergies and some abilities simply are a lot better than others, and there's also a big disparity in actual stats between different wolves and companions. This forces you to choose between aesthetics on the one hand and battle prowess on the other. I know we are way too far in now to really make any big changes about it, but I have to agree it is incredibly frustrating if you want to have, for example a mono lair of a specific breed. You beter hope that that breed is not a lupin, because they are abysmal performers in fighting areas.

Same with companions; you can only add companions to a team if they are attached to a wolf also on the team, but perhaps in terms of aesthetics a companion fits very well with a wolf, but in terms of battle synergy it is a horrible match.

I am not sure how this might be fixed, but I really wish it wasn't all so set in stone and unchangeable, so you now often have to choose either or.

Support. I’d even go so far as to say give us a way to train individual synergies and abilities so we can get combos not currently assigned to a wolf breed. Either deliberately through some item or training mechanics or randomly like a besprinkler for abilities and synergies

Absolute support. I wanted my progens to be Zerda, but I'm too intimidated by the idea of changing how they function in combat to buy the MS to change them. Locking functional gameplay with aesthetics is always a really bad choice in games :(

I understand why they have done it this way, but lots of things you need are locked behind more expensive breeds. I just don't really want to change how my wolves look for that, although I am personally neutral towards things being locked behind certain aesthetics, most of the time.

For example I like the way Flight Rising has solved this issue. It's quite limited, but dragon breeds there have either a "fire breath" sort of attack, a simple slash or a shield ability and another ability fitting one of those at the start, and you can change abilities and replace them for any breed with anything at anytime if you have the ability item.

Perhaps it could work the same way here, although they would need to get a bit more creative with it as abilities here are much more integral to the overall gameplay than it is in Flight Rising. I think that the game being new and there not being many wolves for cheaper yet as well as not too many familiars is part of this current "restraint" so to speak, so it will get better as people get more wolf and familiar type variety, but it is something I'd like to see in the game.

Yep, would love this! Honestly I somewhat figured this would eventually be the intended system. Mainly because having certain wolf breeds always only have one type of synergy set is very limiting, and for a breeding game it would be neat if that was also changeable and therefore inheritable. Like a kit-lupin bred pup would have a change to get any synergies from both parents. Ideally this would just be trainable, but if they wanted to go the fixed route, breeding would still be a cool way to get variety.
