What it says on the tin. I can mine mithril. I can make mithril wheels and pickaxes at the same crafting level. I can access them at the same time. Except that using a mithril pickaxe requires level 30 mining, and a mithril wheel requires level 20. It's the same deal with all of the post-silver metals, which just doesn't make any reasonable sense save to put an artificial speed limit on leveling right when it starts getting difficult.

Yeah, it's very odd. Also, gold stuff is level 1? That's.. very pay-to-win? If you find someone who can make those items you can just buy them and speed through the whole thing?

Woah I didn't realize gold was level 1. Yeah that truly makes this another level of ridiculous. It was already a frustrating addition but that makes it extra frustrating. It completely undermines any argument in favor of the level block.

I made a similar suggestion (though mine was to remove the level requirements all together) back during the Mining Mayhem because I'd bought a mithril pickaxe with tickets only to realize I couldn't use it.

Good point @scribblecrumb. Locking the equipment itself to levels is kind of redundant since you can't mine the stronger metals until later mining levels in themselves, and is just silly since you can buy high level metals from the official event shop. And I did not realize that about gold @SCB, that's messed up to the extreme.

I still wonder if gold level 1 is an oversight or a glitch, since in the first Beta you could get gold in the Lagoon (I remember this clearly, I had one stuck in there for a long time because I didn't want to drop it).

But yes, support. I don't understand why they're different levels, especially since I think that each pickaxe and wheel share the same crafting level.
