Here is a spreadsheet to determine what level will provide the most profits for releasing wolves! This assumes that you don't care about knucklebone tokens and you only want pebbles:

To find the most efficient level, look in the total pebbles per exp column and find the highest number. Then see what level that is. I may add a box that does this for you at some point but I'm not sure what formula to use and I have some wolves to go train to level 6

@notdog thanks for sharing! this looks really useful! one suggestion i have is to also include an interactive part where the user can put how they value a knucklebone (in pebbles) so that the sheet can take that into account for level 10.

You don't need to use food at all to level for releasing. You can easily just attach a Basidio, Kuzma, or Colpatch to the wolf you want to level and level them up slowly without using any of your resources, but den space.
