So I'm a player who enjoys the RNG of breeding wolves for fun color combinations, but with the state of things currently it is pretty much impossible to sell the pups I don't end up keeping but still think look decent. Getting a single knucklebone token from a level 10 wolf is hardly a reward considering all the time, food, and clicking it takes to get one wolf to level 10 for an average casual player. The pebble increase is nice, but again, not worth it considering how easy it is to get pebbles in other ways.
I want something that makes releasing wolves to be more rewarding, both so fodder sells faster and just to make it seem more tied in with the site. I will start with the ideas I think are most applicable and then list the ones that are more ambitious but also rewarding/interesting! I'm not sure if something like this is already in the works, I don't really lurk the forums, so here are my ideas.
- Moonstones: Unless you're constantly grinding out every profession, in the campaign 24/7, or buying from the premium shop, there is no good way to get moonstone shards or moonstones. I think it would be smart to include a reward system that gives a player a shard (Or if you get really lucky, a full moonstone) for every 5-10 wolves they release. This idea is pretty simple, and would help with players who want to strictly be free to play.
- Conquest: This one could be independent to the user or a territory-wide effort. A bar needs to be filled to reap the benefits, done so by releasing a decent sum of wolves regularly. There could be one goal to reach or multiple split up across the whole bar, the most beneficial being at the most full. The goal benefits could be things like; increase profession EXP or speed of professions, increased Campaign EXP, a small Gauntlet buff, free daily rewards for as long as it's maintained, ect.
- Crossroads: Whenever a wolf is released the user is given a few choices to tell the wolf where to go. Depending on the option picked, the player gets a reward ranging from food, resources, trinkets, or companions. There's a chance the wolf will not give you any items, but the player will always get a sum of pebbles or a bone token depending on the level.
Let me know what you think! I'm open to any additional ideas or some changes to what I've proposed, and if I really like an idea I'll include it in the main post with a little @ for whoever came up with it
