Ability to Block Users from Trades

(Rewording this suggestion to keep the conversation on topic)

The current block function still allows the player to see your trades and buy them, my suggestion is to either make a new button that blocks them from viewing your trades or to alter the existing block button to stop them from seeing your trades.

I'm def team "let other people do what they want with their own wolves." But I'm also team "block button should keep that person from interacting with me in any way."

So, support!

Also hucking this into the abyss: If you're gonna chase the wolf you bought from me at least give it a name ;-;

People can buy from people who blocked them?? What?? Support. They should not be able to interact like that with someone who blocked them.

Editing to add: I'm supporting this in general. I like how flight rising does it, that neither party can see the other's sales when one is blocked (or they blocked each other). That works, especially when the sales of things you can track via lineage is involved. It can be easily used as harrassment and even though that is reportable; it would be better if that option was removed entirely. There is still a line to be drawn at how wolves can be utilized. Releasing (even as No Name)/changing completely/removing lore and art is one thing, "spite releasing" is a complete different story.

Plus, coming as someone who doesn't block easily/blocks for big reasons, I would rather not have someone I blocked buying wolves from me.

Support! When you block a user, they shouldn’t be able to interact with you in any way.

Support, but for blocking to automatically make it so that both parties couldn't see each other's listings.

Edit: Just adding that my support comes from that being how a block should work. If you don't want someone to interact with you, you naturally aren't going to want to interact with them. (I personally don't mind what happens to my wolves after they're bought, as they're not mine anymore, and it'd be a headache to keep track of them all. Plus, I can't be mad at people releasing wolves they buy from me, since I happily release my own pups, as well. lol)

Further Edit: I also support this, as it stops the blocked user from harassing their blocker by buying their wolves and purposefully naming them all awful things, before releasing them. (Note: I'm not talking about people who casually buy fodder to level and release, who either give wolves a harmless silly name or no name at all. It should be a given, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.) And with both parties unable to view each other's listings, this would likewise protect the blocked user from the same form of harassment, should their blocker be spiteful.

No support. I'm personally a buyer/chaser and every game that does this gets so frustrating because then someone can block you because you have a wolf they don't like or w/e and then it destroys the economy players, as well as keeps wolves flooding the market. Look at Wolvden, Lioden. Both have the issue currently.

If you want it to not be chased, sell for a collector's price instead of a fodder price is my opinion

Adding to this before everyone on this site blocks me anyway since I admitted to being one.

Put yourself in my shoes. I'm buying fodder priced wolves, especially those with no name/sell/whatever boring name there is. I decide to go shopping for, say, art or collector wolves for myself. Suddenly I can't view someone's sales. Why? I'm blocked. Why? Because I bought an unnamed wolf for fodder price just to fodder, without notes or any hint it was not for fodder. I'm excluded from the game. By playing a part of the game.

I'm of two minds. The block function does need to work a little better. HOWEVER, what happens to a wolf when you've sold it, is none of your concern. It's not in your den. If you'd rather not have someone release a wolf, then don't sell it on the Flea Market and instead, use the forums to find a perma home. I don't think you need to really be able to block people from buying your listings in the Flea Market, when there's no interactions. I think the interaction part is the important part here.

Support, but not for your specific issue.

If I block someone, I don't want them to interact with me, period. Blocking loses its entire point if the other person isn't blocked from all interactions - especially on a petsite. I used to play on one where all blocking did was hide the blocked person's messages on the forum... but they could still send you pms and trades, and they could still see/interact with your posts on the forum... I hated how useless blocking was on there, and unless you straight up told the player you had blocked them, they would keep interacting with you. And even then, nothing was stopping that person from contacting you despite knowing you wanted nothing to do with them - they could send you trades on purpose, simply out of spite, and nothing would be done about it. So yeah. Either have a block function that blocks all kinds of interactions, or don't have one at all.

As for your issue, if you don't want your wolves to be released by others, don't sell them for fodder price. It's as simple as that. The market is oversaturated and the only way to fix that is to release wolves when they don't sell. You're free to block whoever you want, but don't blame chasers for an oversight on your end. If you list a wolf for fodder price, don't be surprised when people buy your wolves to release them - a wolf being "pretty" (in your eyes) doesn't mean it is in everyone's eyes. Price your wolves for a higher price in the flea market, but write in their bio (or your own bio) that you will sell them for less to a good home.

No support. I completely agree with Lakaishia. In this case it would prevent people from the option to buy pretty/perma wolves from someone who blocked them only because they bought a wolf at fodder price and released it.

I do see where people are coming from with not allowing any interaction from someone who is blocked, but a bunch of people blocking people for releasing fodder priced wolves could hurt the economy. As Lakaishia said, we shouldn't be excluded from the game by playing a part of the game.

Releasing wolves is vital to the economy, so the best solution in this case would be to sell higher than fodder price, or advertise your wolves for sale in the forums.

EDIT: adding to this to respond to the other side of it. I had a situation on FR where I advertised dragons for sale in the forums and the only interaction I had with a specific user at all was their request for me to hold a dragon for them. I did so for a very long time before reaching out to find out that they had blocked me. I try to be very respectful to everyone, and keep my signature considerate to others, so I have no idea why I was blocked. Now, if this were implemented here, and this came up, I could be blocked from buying a wolf in this situation when I've done nothing wrong. If people didn't block others for any reason what so ever, then I would be more on board with this from an interaction stand point.

People do block others for any reason, and they have a right to. I don't think someone should be prevented from buying a wolf in the FM if they haven't actually done anything to the other person. Obviously, I'm not talking about when they're blocked for a reason like spamming, disrespect, etc, but rather when it's because they don't like their profile, username, wolves, favorite color, etc. And that does happen.

No support. While I understand the frustration of seeing a wolf released when you meant for them to find a home, the person buying has no idea of your intentions. They most likely just want to get the event ticket for releasing one wolf a day, and picked up the cheapest one on the market. Barring people from all of your trades for this is punishing them for just playing the game. D:
