I feel... some kind of way about this lol. I feel like I would rather they be working on updates than spending a bunch of time updating for small changes like art. I think also if they posted patch notes with literally JUST an art update on moonstone shards, people would be upset/disappointed then as well, so it feels pretty lose-lose for the dev team on this suggestion. I think it is already A Lot that Quiche is going through every single support thread that is impacted and pinging every single person who posted on that thread to let them know of the change. Like, that is so much work already. The team is doing their best, they have limited resources, and are still pulling off an incredibly smooth launch.

Another possible option on this would be to not implement changes until enough things are being changed to warrant a patch notes update, then people won't be upset about not getting patch notes and instead will just be upset that nothing has changed (like I said, lose-lose, I think the devs are doing fine with their current process).

Ping me! @Fieryblood

Even if they don't have enough updates to put into patch notes, we really need some kind of way for the devs to communicate small changes like minor art updates.

It is just very strange to see minor updates being made to a site but at the same time, the devs are completely silent and have been so for months at this point. Despite there being multiple issues that need addressing. To me at least it feels like we're being ignored while the devs make very minor changes to say that they're doing something.

Also not sure why Quiche pinging people on suggestion threads has anything to do with Alaunis and JimJim being the ones who would be working on these updates and putting out patch notes. In fact I really don't see why we need to ping everyone on a topic. If these updates come out in regular patch notes which are published to the entire website, that would satisfy this unasked task. Kind of laughing at the thought that it's so much work to ping users in a thread on a website that doesn't have that many active members.

The solution adopted by a lot of services could save every one a big headache. Having a dedicated weekly day for small updates. Let's call it patch Tuesday. (everything on LW is reset on Tuesday, so that makes it a good day for that purpose).

Every Tuesday, ALL the small updates and changes are sent live on LW with a patch note. Every little change like design updates, text corrections, quick bug fix or anything that isn't priority and detrimental to the game. And the big monthly updates should exclusively be used for the introduction of new things (new functionality, new assets, new apparels etc). Everything should have a schedule, the only updates out of schedule we should get are security updates and hotfix for big bugs and exploit.

For example (these are fictive scenario) :

- Someone has found a way to generate infinite pebble? Patch ASAP and make a news about it, explain what has been done and why.

- A bug has been discovered, clicking on the breeding button on a wolf profile will trigger the generation function of a WW in the den instead of normal behavior? Patch ASAP make a patch note

- A lore text somewhere displays "bnuuy" instead of "bunny"? Schedule for the next patch Tuesday, write a line about it in that week patch note.

- Farming turnip give at lvl 5 with a general farming lvl of 15 only gives 2 turnips, it's way too low. It will be changed to 4 turnips? Schedule for the next patch Tuesday, write a line about it in that week patch note.

- Introducing a new breed? Schedule it for the next monthly update with a nicely writing news.

- Introducing a new functionality? Schedule it for the next monthly update with a nicely writing news.

Any communication at all would be an improvement-- no shade to their staunchest supporters-- maybe a few of the community members we have trawling around could be set to post patch notes for the little quickie fixes or updates in their own dev-tracker box on the side of the front page... No expectations to be disappointed for those concerned about that kind of thing (tho I fully get where it's coming from lol)/ but people would be able to see exactly what is going on without having to hear it randomly in the discord (which I will never stop saying was a total mistake to keep open as the main line of communication) or by chancing on stumbling across it themselves.

More transparency with what is going on is never a bad idea.

I much rather they ditch what they currently do, cause it feels like completely wasted effort and only informs a very small part of the community. Plus as someone who has commented on suggestions with alternatives only to receive a ping to be notified that the original suggestion was implemented, it feels even more as if the 'listening' to the community is only done half heartedly. (Not saying that my ideas are the best, but it feels backwards to be pinged only to be notified of something being implemented I didn't (fully) support.)

Instead of scouring through the suggestions forum and pinging everyone that posted there, just post in the patch notes. And only post in the suggestions forum if a suggestion that was already implemented is revived. Saves so much effort and it actually reaches a larger part of the community instead of the dozen or so folks that posted on the specific suggestion forum.

I think the issue with scheduling is, as we are seeing now, that it turns out to be very difficult for the staff to keep up with the schedule. As a result, scheduled posts are delayed and we receive no communication at all and the community is completely left in the dark. Rather than pushing back releases or communication about releases to be compiled in a scheduled update and making the silence the community is experiencing even bigger, just update the patch notes. If there is time to scour the suggestions forum to post and lock all related threads and ping every single person on it to notify them of the change, there should also be time to also quickly add a line to the patch notes about the change in order to communicate with the community as a whole. If there isn't any time, something is obviously wrong with the priorities.

Yeah, support. Small patch notes like these don’t even need a new update thread. They could always be added as a reply to the big monthly patch notes thread as done. They have done that in the past, just not recently.
