Coloring Contest CAs will be referred to as CCCAs in the rest of this post

CCCA are not fully custom.
LW is supplying the lines and shadows.
I thought part of the point for the CC was to get more pebble apparel in the game.

Since CCCA aren't fully custom, we should get more copies per CAT (Maybe 10?) Or have a new CCCAT at a reduced cost to allow for CCCA to be sold at a reduced rate or for pebbles (tbh I would prefer more along the lines of 25ms max/5ms per copy of item). This is a great chance for huge pebbles sinks, especially if CCCA can only be sold for pebbles.

To break even on the CAT, a CA must be sold at 20ms minimum. Most artists would like to make a little bit which bumps up the minimum to around 35ms for most artists. This is too much for a non custom item in my opinion.

LW already has a problem with everything costing moonstones, I don't think gatekeeping the players who made a Coloring Contest entry from being able to make it into a CA and share their art because they can't afford the CAT is a solution and it just makes the MS problem worse.

I was really excited for the coloring contests and there are so many entries that I would LOVE to buy but not for 20ms+ per one

support! I want to submit my standards, but yeah, having to ask 25-35ms for a single item which one might want multiple of (because yeah, one pack might have a single standard bearer, but also! maybe the whole pack has one!)

I would love a lower MS cost or more copies received in a CCCAT (special token only useable on the coloring contest bases), or maybe even a pebble option so we can reasonably sell for pebbles instead of ms!

I agree with Lissajo's sentiments on this. (Maybe I'm cheap but I'm only really interested in buying the flags for pebbles and saving my ms for CA that was 100% created by the player.)

yes, i agree ,, the coloring contest entries need to be like lissajo said so they can be affordable .. at least cheaper than a fully designed custom appareal item.

Having a token specifically for coloring contests would be great.

I personally think a CCCAT should cost pebbles. It should be limited to charging for pebbles, too. That way coloring contest items remain as pebbles-only, instead of creating a two-tier system of "normal coloring contest submission won through merit" where the creator doesn't get profit from each purchase, and "premium coloring contest submission bought for $10" where the creator makes money for their design. Yes, the winners got a reward, but a CA can keep getting refilled provided it keeps getting bought.

Even if I don't think CCCA should be moonstone-cost, I do believe that if an artist wishes to charge for moonstones, they should have a CCCAT that is lower in price than a standard CAT available, but limited strictly to CCCA only. The option should be provided. Lower ms cost means there's a lower threshold to submit your CA, lower threshold for you to make a profit, and more people have access to it overall. This way there are options for those who still want to profit in moonstones without having to pay the full CA cost.

Having a pebble-cost CCCAT and a moonstone-cost CCCAT would be ideal. I feel there would be a lot of little details to iron out, but this is more of a general like... vibe I'd like for CCCA. There are prob a lot of details in my post I could flesh out but eh.

Oh, I think this would work out well as a much needed pebble sink provided that they could only be bought with pebbles, and the user who submit it doesn't get pebble sales from the item. (Would defeat the point of it being a pebble sink.) With pebble sinks on two ends I can see this being very helpful as a way to spend the pebbles.

Agree LW needs to handle CAT a bit differently when it uses site-provided art.

I would be thrilled to see more copies supplied, or a pebble cost alternative, pretty much anything to offset the fact that its not really 100% custom.

I know of at least one other pet site that handles custom art differently depending on whether the base art is provided or user-drawn, and I think its the right way to go.

I cleaned up my first post but decided to reply with my new thought.. what if you could purchase a CCCAT for the reduced rate/extra copies & after all of your copies have been sold, you could have the option to purchase another CCCAT or submit to LW (for free) your CCCA to have put into the game as normal apparel?

The artist gets paid whatever profits they made from round one, but then also has the opportunity to have their items sold at reasonable pebble cost for the player base? (if this is done, a none-wolf clipped version would need to be submitted so LW could make it to fit new breeds as well) Since its a LW lineart, this should be no big deal as it would only take a literal minute or less to do per item.

(as an artist, as long as I've made SOMETHING for my time, I am happy and would be happy to be able to contribute so we have more affordable apparel in the game.. I love pretty much every single coloring contest entry so if the artist could & would like to have them actually made into apparel, I think that they should.. plus we could always use more pebble sinks and apparel is an excellent way to do so)
