why or why aren't you subscribed

to the lorwolf monthly membership?

if no, what features would make it worth it paying $4.99 a month?

(beyond reasons of cannot spend money & the state of the site)

for me the benefits are very lackluster, somewhat reminding me of the premium account status on dappervolk, but with less utility. 3 moonstone a day for 28-31 days (ps: how long is a month? since months have different amounts of days) doesn't end up being enough to even buy a CA token, or most CAs on the market. and on principal i refuse to purchase adblocking (especially for websites who have had issues with inappropriate ads).

i was trying to think of suggestions to improve this, but i'm having trouble thinking of what to include that wouldn't turn the feature into being P2W. a forum banner and avatar frame would be at least something.

curious if anyone else has itching desires for specific benefits in a monthly subscription

I believe the subscription does have the most favourable rate in terms of moonstones obtained vs dollars paid.

That being said, I do not like memberships at all. The membership on Dappervolk is very pay-to-win, and one of the main reasons I absolutely refuse to ever buy premium currency on that site, and pretty much stopped playing it altogether. So honestly given the fact that the membership on Lorwolf already has the best rate for moonstones compared to the other packages you can buy, I don't think it should be 'improved' because that'll just make the pay-to-win vibes on this game (which already aren't very favourable) even worse.

As to why I don't have it, other than the state of the site..... I don't like spending money on sites would be the only reason remaining. Especially not continually. Maybe every once in a while if I feel especially supportive and my financial situation allows it, but small monthly transactions easily add up and can end up being a major outflow of money so I try to avoid those as much as possible.

A basic adblocker essentially removes the need for a subscription, and 3ms/day is not enough incentive for me to pay for what I can just get for free. I'd pay if I really enjoyed the site, but...

Truthfully, for a site as underdone as LW, I don't understand why a subscription was added in the first place- aside from the MS, there's really not enough content to reward without straying too far into pay-to-win territory. Nothing from the subscription should touch professions, getting WWs/knucklebones, campaign... maybe the ability to quote posts? ;)

I'm not subscribed because I can't afford it right now but also because I don't think its all that worth it? Cool to hear the moonstone rate is pretty good but only that plus adblocker for 5 bucks a month... yeah it's not doing it for me. I know people are pretty opposed to giving more perks to the subscription like exclusive apparel or services, but honestly that's probably what would get me to subscribe.

I unsubbed a few days ago essentially for the reasons people are not subbing. It just isn't worth it. I was only subbed to give some support to the website anyway, but I'm quickly losing interest.

I have the subscription because it's a decent value of ms for the cost. I considered canceling it a couple of times recently, but what keeps me subbed is that it adds up so fast. In two days that's 6ms, and in three days that's 9ms. For an impulse spender like me who's having an increasingly difficult time earning ms, those few ms might make the difference on whether or not I can afford a specific CA or wolf that's for sale at any given time.

I have an ad blocker, so I don't really need the subscription aside from the daily ms honestly, but I like the fact that I can support the site as well instead of just blocking the ads.

Though, I will very likely stop my subscription until the site picks back up if we don't have any updates within the next month or so.

Mostly because the features don’t really lure me in? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think ad-block and some premium currency is a bad idea per se. For me personally it’s just not enough. And I don’t mind ads most of the time anyway.

What might be more interesting would be some kind of exclusive banner/forum decor options? A special apparel set? Like, something visual/aesthetic to avoid making it a ptw feature.

I would consider subscribing if we were getting regular content and if the site felt alive, but as things currently are, I wouldn't know what I'd be paying for n__n;; I'm not really even certain this currency will be spendable in a month's time

I was happy to subscribe to support the site, and the moonstones were a nice plus. But there just hasn't been enough new content, pebbles are all but worthless, and there are only fewer wolves being bred and sold because it's just so hard to sell them now that most people (myself included) are just starting to release puppies they don't want. I cancelled my subscription because I'm just not spending enough time here anymore to justify it, I hope we get updates that turn that around and I'll want to subscribe again!

When trying to explain various aspects of the site to people, I keep making comparisons in my head to the MLP mobile game I play. It too has premium currency, it too has a subscription. The subscription on that game allows me to gain the benefits of watching an ad without having watched it (not really relevant here), but another thing that makes it worthwhile is that it offers users to select a pony from a list of three. Not all of the ponies are exclusive to the subscription, and many of the subscription ponies that are initially exclusive to it return, but it's a fun bonus on top of being very useful. The subscription on that game is the same price as it is on LW.

I think the sub giving MS is a helpful start, but perhaps it could borrow a page from Gameloft (and many other games, I know Roblox does this too) and offer some sort of item, like a companion or special apparel, for subscribing each month. The item could be sold and traded and offer for a drip feed of content, especially if seasonally themed, to keep users subscribed and keep the site active. It doesn't have to even be an exclusive item, it could sort of act as a "preview" benefit (what if the subscription for October had offered an item upcoming in a future update to its subscribers? Maybe like the mushroom foreground that was teased...).

I never susbcribed because I always use adblock (except on sites like PCE because I like to see peoples cats) and I can't promise I'd always use MS. I still have a stockpile of MS from a trade. I would not subscribe in the future unless more benefits are added, but I'm also not spending money on the site period until we see attention.

I haven't played consistently for months other than occasionally remembering to dump pebbles into Koda so I can try and get to level 35 sometime in the next ten years, but back when I was more active, I might have subscribed- it's fine value for me, and I have the disposable income for it- if they'd allowed the ability to turn off the badge on the forums. I'm a very private person, and advertising something like that just makes me feel weird.
