Un-soulbind Achievement apparel

I feel that, since you also earn a soulbound recipe for achievement apparel, the apparel earned from achievements shouldn't be soulbound. Some of these pieces will take a long time to earn, so surely we should get to sell/give them to other players?


To me, soulboud items are something that should be reserved for handouts, which will effect the economy more if they can be traded around than something someone earned over the course of days, weeks or months of gameplay. I would argue that players would feel more rewarded by currency if it's item that they don't like.

I support this whole heartedly. I really dont understand why everything is Soulbound all the time. That frustrates me more than anything. It does not motivate me. And I get the long game aspect of a game like LW, but players should be able to sell and trade things that they want or don’t want.

@Ezra I agree. Achievement rewards should be rewarding even if you don't want them, since you work hard to get them, so letting them be tradeable is a good way to strike a balance and keep people playing for more time, in my opinion.

the KS and beta stuff is tradeable, so it seems odd to me that the achievement gear isnt. that said, im a little on the fence about it; it'd be cool to know that the user im looking at really did achieve those things... but the rewards being soulbound is inconsistent with backer rewards, and it's no skin off my back if someone traded for their gear. support.

include the Companion and whatever other items are available as rewards in what i said above, im still not sure what all there is yet lol

I don't support this, given you also get the recipe to make the items, with the items. Why do the achievement, when you can buy what you want? It's not like the KS stuff where you paid funds to get those items. You worked for these items by playing the game, and are given those items.

I would only support them being un soulbound if the recipes weren't also given to you, and you were able to get a single copy of that item.

Support. For those who can't or don't want to do all the achievement work, being able to buy them would not only help them not have to do it all, but also support the people who did put in the work.

If people want to show off the fact that they did all the achievements, well... Gotta make use out of those badges/titles somehow!

@Vissyn 'Why do the achievement when you can buy it?'

The recipe let's you make them for items instead of currency, so it's usually cheaper, especially since the recipe is limited by an achievement or multiple - people charge more depending on the difficulty and time taken to make things. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would prefer making it to buying the item without the achievement. Plus if a player gets the achievement they can start selling copies of it too

In my original post I'm talking about people who don't want the clothing they get, so as it stands, they aren't seeking out these achievements and are spending less time playing - less potential ad revenue for the site.

@Wisp You get most (if not all) soulbound apparel with a badge so this wouldn't stop you from knowing if they earned stuff themselves and arguably the badges get more useful this way. For example, I got the level 1 bronze gauntlet rank badge, which is the one that you earn the citrine dagger from.
