Ore prioritization

(Putting this in a new thread cause it is a little bit different from my other mining suggestion, but also still kinda related)

The ability to be able to set a specific ore (not moonstone shards or flouruscent ore cause that would be overpowered) to be prioritised.

(Probably also not gemstones and the % increase lower for ores that are meant to be very rare, like gold or chaosium)

You can, for example set iron to be prioritised, making it some percent more likely to find iron ore than any other ore (this of course would only be able to be done if said ore existed in the stage/level one is in at that moment)

Or maybe "just" increase the likelyhood of obtaining the prioritized ore and decrease the likelyhood of finding anything else?

Depending on the ore it could also take longer to mine/find ores as a trade off.

And / or being able to inverse this, setting one ore to be more unlinkely to be found and making finding other ores a bit more likely to be found as a result.

(Even if thats just cause the cart is not getting cluttered with unwanted stuff)

(Looking at you silver ore..)

What do you think?

Any further ideas?

I think a better solution would be to lessen the variety of ores one can find in a specific area. There's really no reason why so many ores can be found in the later levels. By limiting the amount of ores in each area, you can simply 'prioritize' a specific ore by choosing a location.

That makes a lot of sense!
Maybe add one or two areas to spread the ores out more?

I think I've got to agree more with @Gaia 's suggestion of limiting ores that can be found in the different areas. It will mean more grinding for lower-level players to access certain ores but will provide incentive to progress through the profession's ranks and mining zones. Plus, it doesn't really take the long to access all locations, so the grind wouldn't be too grueling.

How many new areas do you think would be ideal?

And how would the ores be distributed?

Maybe one area for each major ore type? Like Copper, Iron, Silver and Mythril? And have the other ores and gems spread evenly troughout?

Honestly, I don't think it is necessary to add more areas, unless they decide to suddenly add more ore variations. There's 7 types of ores and 5 areas. I see absolutely 0 reason why each area has to drop 4 or even 5 types of ores. Just have 1 or 2 per area and you're golden and we can easily make do with the areas we already have.

Perhaps have just copper in the first area as that is where people start (and most likely haven't expanded their cart yet, meaning they are hit the hardest by having multiple types drop in a single area, as you need a specific amount of ores to actually melt it down.
The second area could drop Iron
The third area could drop Mithril and silver
The fourth area could drop Lorium (and those gems)
The fifth area could drop Chaosium and Gold

As long as they limit the amount of different types dropping per area to 1 or 2, and don't have 1 type drop in multiple areas, any configuration is fine with me, TBH
