I... do genuinely hope LW is still planning to have a community manager, and this doesn't represent a rather disastrous removal of a role that could really be so pivotal and important to the community, especially if the role was expanded to be the active community leader that we need.
If the Devs want to work quietly in the background, that's fine, but the community needs someone in charge of keeping the userbase in the loop, with more frequent updates about what's going on, even if they are not particularly exciting updates. Even better if they can have access to the tools that allow them to drip-feed content to the playerbase a little at a time; nobody is expecting FR-level updates from a game with a small team, but this genre lives and dies on small but frequent drops-- as I'm sure you guys can tell, given how much the player count has cratered since launch.
