Hey, Lorfolk!

This thread's pretty self-explanatory. I just wanted to create a little place where we can chat about our favorite Pokémon and interact a little bit more as a community!

Every so often I might bump the thread by asking users for a new theme (favorite starter, favorite legendary, etc.) so if you want you can subscribe to the thread or request a ping to be notified of when discussion refreshes! Whenever I do post a new theme, I'll list it here on the front page!

Favorite Overall Pokémon

My favorite Pokémon over all is and has always been Houndoom. I love demons and Doberman pinchers, so having a cool and fearsome fire-breathing dog that combines a bunch of my favorite aesthetics is like a dream come true. The Mega Evolution is even more impressive. Plus, it's a really powerful fire-type Pokémon (and dark-type, but I tend to rely more on its firepower), and its lore is super interesting!

Its fire is produced from toxins within their body, and if one is burned by it, the pain never goes away. Other Pokémon fear its howl, once believed by humans to be the sound of the grim reaper itself. The leaders of packs of these Pokémon are even noted to have different horns--ones raked sharply back. It's fun imagining them with all kinds of unique horn types!

My all time favorite Pokemon has always been Growlithe.

When I was younger, like back in my middle/high school days, I'd write a lot of Pokemon fanfics and my character's starter was always a Growlithe that had escaped Team Rocket. And, even now, when I play any Pokemon game where Growlithe is a wild encounter, my first male is always named Searinox as a sort of tribute to those days I spent hours writing bad fanfics. xD

My favorite legendary though is Lugia.

Gonna be the one with the overrated comment but Charizard. What's not to love about the OG fire breathing dragon. Plus love the black and red shiny.

Number 1 favorite of all time and forever.. that one's shared between Darkrai and Umbreon for me! The former being a huge comfort for me ever since I first watched the movie where it starred, and the second being what's clicked as my pokesona for many years with basically no design tweaks :]
