Hey there! Welcome to Lorwolf! It's always so nice to see fresh new faces still finding this place.
Lunar Howlers gave some great tips too!
I'd also say Farming is your friend. Start with corn, it's really cheap, and it will help stockpile food fast as well. I usually only use my cooked food for grinding Campaign, while I use the stuff I've grown through farming, like corn and Broccoli, to fill the stamina of my wolves for things like Gauntlet, Fishing, and Mining.
Oh! You can also prioritize the food being used to feed your wolves in your den page. Under den statistics there is an Actions box. Click Manage Auto Feed and you can deselect the foods you don't want to automatically feed to your wolves. This also helps with stockpiling large quantities of fish and large meat chunks, which are better used cooked, and veggies you grow.
There is also a large selection of Companions you can equip to your wolves, which Lunar Howlers mention, that not only give your wolves exp and help level them over time when you interact with them, but pebbles and other trinkets too, which can be sold. Nana is a lifesaver for when you have lots of Companions equipped. And, usually, you'll earn your pebbles back easily if you have some of the Companions that yield pebbles as a reward.
