For Newbies: Great Items to Sell on Flea Market

Since I've noticed a lot of new players active on the site recently, I know there's a lot of things that I don't really grind anymore or that new players may not be able to use yet but I (and presumably at least some other long-time players) would be interested in buying. Thought it might be nice to create a list new players could use to get some quick cash and maybe even moonstones. Long-time players could of course use as well haha

  • This is NOT a sales thread. Please don't make sales or sale requests here.
  • New players, feel free to ask questions or share your thoughts here!
  • Long-time players, chime in with other items that may fit the list, additional context or relevant advice that may be helpful, or even just your own feedback on my list :P
  • I'll try to keep this post as up-to-date as possible for easy at-a-glance info!

Current Pebble-to-Moonstones Exchange Rate is generally accepted as around 1MS = 100,000 Pebbles (also written as 100kp).

Copper Bars

Does not appear in The Deep Deep mining or from companion drops.

Primarily for cosmetic crafting:

  • 1 copper bar per piece for jewelry
  • 4-12 bars per piece for armor/collars

Rockbreaker Ox requires 60 Copper (+ Other Ore and lvl 35 Mining)

  • I imagine longer-term players no longer need many of these?
  • 60-bar stacks may sell well to the medium-game players, but I don't know that market size

Emerald / Citrine /

Amethyst Gems

Occur only in the earlier mining caves, which are less mined at higher levels.

Used for cosmetic crafting:

  • Gemstone Steps (10 Gems)
  • Gold or Silver Gemstone Teardrop Earrings (2 Gems)
  • Gemstone Daggers (1 Gem)
  • Gold Gem Chest (5 of each Gem variety)
Bones

Bones are great for crafting XP at high levels (uses lvl 60 recipe).

Bone Paste is not as big of a constraint at higher levels.

  • May be profitable to sell bones and just buy the bone paste for your early game crafting needs.

Silk Thread / Silk Fabric

As far as I know only obtainable via Mole Market.

Used for crafting the Achievement Silk Sets (Apparel) (Soulbound, which means account-locked and cannot be traded/sold), which require various achievement milestones to unlock.

Leaf Piles

Not a common item drop in most late-game play loops. Can be used for cooking, but not for any required or particularly efficient recipes.

Used for crafting soul-bound apparel (cannot be sold/traded/gifted/etc, so the only way to acquire is through crafting):

  • Wildwood Antlers (All 4 Seasons) (10 Leafpiles required)
  • Wildwood Pauldron (All 4 Seasons) (30 Leafpiles required)
  • Wildwood Belt (All 4 Seasons) (60 Leafpiles required)

Leaf Piles are a potential drop in the following Campaign locations:

ICERUN:

  • 2nd sword - Lapistrix
  • 3rd sword - Simbur

GOLDSEA:

  • 3rd sword - Broch

MURKWOOD:

  • 1st sword - Nytha
  • 2nd sword - Canictonis

DARKSPINE:

  • Den - Kapura
  • 2nd sword - Vulpactia
  • 3rd sword - Torcine, Kapura (<-- likely the best bet? most possible EXP, they potentially drop from both combat scenarios, easy to beat)

May be profitable to grind for leaf piles while leveling up wolves or completing Explore activities.

Selling gemstones is huge. They sell direct from inventory for 4k each, so you could easily list them on the FM for double (triple? quadruple? I'd still buy at that price tbh!) for easy money. Bones are good for your crafting XP, but also worth $$, so pick your poison. 1 bone = 1k pebbles atm.

There's a lot of good niches waiting for players to fill them, I'd love to see a more active, much more competitive flea market to wrangle things into a good place for everyone.

I expect the difficulty of relisting items and wolves on the flea market (no easy way to do it, have to find everything and relist it from scratch every single time) is a large stifling factor here, not necessarily a lack of desire or interest from the playerbase, new or otherwise. ):

Still, this is a nice little resource, and I hope it lands with the people it's intended to.

Definitely I think the more market participants the better!

Luckily, I think the re-listing hassle wouldn't be as much of a hassle for new players, since there's probably not quite the wide spread of items they are selling all at once. And who knows, maybe we'll get some flea market updates by the time the new player of today is giving newbie tips to the new player of tomorrow 🥹💖 a girl can daydream 😂

@Reave Boy do I agree. 😅 I've been listing on the FM for the past week or so and it's rough if I forget to update the listing time; I keep getting little bits and bobs expiring lol. But I think another good tip for the newbies is to be reasonable: remember this is a small site. Listing 100 gemstones all at once for 1 MS each is just going to disappoint when they all expire in 7 days.

Moonstones, generally, are precious and rare. People want to spend them on custom apparel and fancy-dancy wild wolves, not basic materials and trinkets.

But SPEAKING of Moonstones, there are very few people selling them. Need fast cash? List some MS for pebbles and get paid. There are so many pebbles in circulation that people would probs buy 1 MS for 500k pebbles. I hate to even put it into the atmosphere, but I don't think I'm overreacting. (OK maybe a little bit... what about 250k? that's still double the ratio in the other direction hahaha)

You make a good point, so I've started updating the table with some ideas of quantities required for various use-cases of these materials. That might give a better idea for what size stacks may be appropriate for various items, which at least helps listings be more marketable to the target audience(s).

Leaf piles - please wolf gods bring us players willing to sell leaf piles - they are listed as a food item and we think a lot of new players don’t remove them from their auto feed list- To put the numbers out there: a complete wildwood set takes 100 piles. (And can be considered a whole net loss to those who want to craft them since they are account bound / unsellable )

And the wildwood belt ( which is the one we like and want to craft the most ) is 60. We’ve barely touched our stash and can only make 7 belts. Any thoughts on pricing Leaf Piles ? They are a pain to grind and we’re pretty unlucky on our mole market listing them.

We’d happily pay over 100k pebbles for a full 60 set- idk on a appropriate moonstone price tho

@0x0 fantastic suggestion! I will add these to the table when I get home this evening (hard to edit well on mobile during work 😅)

do you know where you can grind out leaf piles in campaign? Just so I can add some extra info if anyone would want to grind to sell 🥰

YES, I didn't even THINK of leaf piles. Great addition. Looking at the Item Guide, leaf piles can be dropped in campaign from:

  • Third sword in Darkspine from Kapura in the boss scenario
  • First sword in Murkwood from the Nytha scenario
  • Second sword in Murkwood from the Colpach/Canictonis scenario

I feel like I've also gotten them from successful hunts? 🤔 Or honestly maybe even from the boss scenario from Icerun... I will do some more running around, but knowing that there is a low level area to find them pleases me for now!

Edit: I've also definitely gotten leaf piles from the Gauntlet, too. Guess that's more reason to check in and start a new round when I can remember.

Edit x2: I've done some hunting. Here are the Campaign areas that Leaf Piles can be found:

ICERUN:

  • 2nd sword - Lapistrix
  • 3rd sword - Simbur

GOLDSEA:

  • 3rd sword - Broch

MURKWOOD:

  • 1st sword - Nytha
  • 2nd sword - Canictonis

DARKSPINE:

  • Den - Kapura
  • 2nd sword - Vulpactia
  • 3rd sword - Torcine, Kapura (<-- likely the best bet? most possible EXP, they potentially drop from both combat scenarios, easy to beat)

@lalierre

Edit x3: I'm back, I ran in the 3rd sword of Darkspine for about 10 minutes, not with perfect focus, and ended up with 7 leaves. 🔥

Bump!

I wanted to point out that it's possible to defeat the Seasonal Campaign Bosses while training a wolf for release. Similar to training a dragon to exalt in FR. Releasing level 10 wolves grants 10k pebbles, voucher(s) for the current events, and most importantly a Knucklebone.

KB can be spent on Hunts to get Wild Wolves. Worth $$$ if you sell them on the Flea Market, or pop some Hunts and enjoy your spoils.

My current team that I can beat any encounter in any of the 3rd sword territories: 2 Kit frontliners, a Canictonis (scorpion swan), and a Lunaria (three-eyed cat). All are level 10.
